Scout: Jason Pawloski

Eliot Seguin-Lescarbeau (G, L, 6’3″, 196, Des Moines Buccaneers, 09/14/2005, New Hampshire)

Grade: B+

Comments: The 2005 born Quebec native has a composed stance and strong set of fundamentals. Once moving his tendency of reaching to try to beat plays reduces his power and creates holes on the ice and through his body. When he stays condensed and composed the game come easy. He controls rebounds well with an active stick and can use his 6’3′ frame to trap pucks. He takes scans of the ice very frequently to identify threats and maintains his feet and mobility as much as possible. Gaining depth when necessary but tending to deepen in his crease and retreat towards the goal line losing his size and not setting his feet. A tough start to the season but a solid foundation to his game, we will see how Seguin-Lescarbeau progresses through the season. Grade: B+

Will Prowse (G, L, 6’0″, 167, Lincoln Stars, 12/18/2006)

Grade: B+

Comments: A Vail Colorado native had a lighter body of work in this one stopping 19 of 22 shots to get two points for the Stars. Prowse is very agile and mobile and can move effectively in his crease with power. He keeps a condensed stance and centers on pucks while sealing the ice well. As pucks approach or are in tight his stance tends to widen, and this pulls his chest and hands forwards affecting his mobility and power. He makes a great use of a reverse and can move very effectively in and out of his posts with power. Taking shoulder checks aids his movement and precision but can be more frequent. He gains depth aggressively and plays at the top of his crease and is comfortable there. Getting the two points for Lincoln and a decent start to the season. Grade: B+
