
Our scouts were in attendance at the Durham West Showcase held the second week of October. Lovell Academy went undefeated in the showcase and came out on top 2-0 against Detroit Little Caesars in a well fought game to win the Gold Championship. The Ottawa Lady Senators came out on top to secure the Silver Championship over the Brampton Canadettes 1-0. Below we have our reports on the best players from each team. Players are listed in order of letter grade under their respective teams. Reports are solely based on play from this tournament.
Bluewater Hawks
Lauren Laszlo #73 (Bluewater Hawks U18 AA, F, 2026): Laszlo is an effective communicator with excellent acceleration and speed, and her positioning enhances the offensive play. Grade: B+
Skarlit Worton #88 (Bluewater Hawks U18 AA, D, 2026): Worton has good speed, strong defensive positioning, and effective support. She knows how to maintain puck control in key areas of the ice. Grade: B+
Riley Duffy #15 (Bluewater Hawks U18 AA, F, 2025): Duffy is willing to block shots and demonstrates excellent defensive speed and positioning. She remains composed during plays, avoids overreacting, and excels in body positioning during puck races and when defending against attackers. Grade: B
Madison Urbshott #54 (Bluewater Hawks U18 AA, D, 2026): Urbshott shows good off puck positioning to break up plays and mitigate scoring chances. Grade: B-
Zoe Morin #10 (Bluewater Hawks U18 AA, F, 2027): Morin has a High level of compete and battles hard through checks to stay on the puck. Grade: C+
Brampton U18AA
Isabella Chan #98 (Brampton Canadettes U18 AA, D, 2028): Chan is a high impact player that has plays with a lot of confidence. She moves well and is agile in her lateral movements on the blueline. On the powerplay, she controls the breakout and can skate the length of the ice, if no other options are present. Chan anticipates where her teammates will be on the ice and makes passes into open space – she thinks 1 step ahead. Grade: B+
Ashna Johal #5 (Brampton Canadettes U18 AA, F, 2025): Johal is a big and strong forward with a long reach that allows her to use her body to keep pucks away from defenders on a 1vs1. She has good game awareness, and knows when to stay back and cover for the D if there are too many people down low. Johal has a strong back hand shot when playing rebounds net front. We look forward to seeing her continue to stop on pucks instead of curling in the D zone. Grade: B
Charline Worron #22 (Brampton Canadettes U18 AA, F, 2027): Worron is small but works hard and is gritty. She takes low shots and follows her own rebounds, and is quick to jump on loose pucks after a faceoff loss to put pressure on defenders. Grade: B
Brina Bottos #91 (Brampton Canadettes U18 AA, D, 2026): Bottos communicates well in the D zone by directing her teammates on where to go based on the pressure and has good poke checks. She can read the play well, good IQ. Bottos also is very active offensively by calling for the puck at the blue line, playing deep in the O zone, taking hard slapshots and holding the blue line strong. Grade: B
Rainn Baliat #93 (Brampton Canadettes U18 AA, F, 2027): Baliat has a powerful stride and is hard on the forecheck. She is hard working and doesn’t let up on pressuring the defence to make mistakes and then capitalizes on them by creating opportunities offensively. Baliat keeps her head up and makes crisp passes on the target. Grade: B
Sarah Elson #34 (Brampton Canadettes U18 AA, D, 2027): Elson has a quick release shot from the blue line and steps down into the slot offensively to get on loose pucks. Defensively, she positions herself well against a 2vs1 rush to slow down the attack. We look forward to seeing her improve her quickness and gap control as she tends to play safe / not challenge the attacker. Grade: B-
Burlington Barracudas
Kylie Penrose #98 (Burlington Jr. Barracudas, F, 2026): Penrose is a speedy forward, that accelerates quickly through the neutral zone. Her crossover speed is impressive and allows her to blow by her opponents. She is unafraid to take the middle of the ice and attack defenders head on. Penrose trusts in her stick handling skills and drives. Penrose exhibits impressive speed and acceleration, effortlessly bypassing defenders. Her excellent stick handling protects the puck as she prepares to shoot. She anticipates plays effectively and initiates offensive rushes. Using precise puck control, she deceives both defenders and the goalie. Additionally, her powerful backhand shot misleads opponents regarding the puck’s angle and trajectory. Grade: A-
Marley Clarke #9 (Burlington Barracudas U18 AA, D, 2025): Clarke is a patient D that keeps her head up to make smart passing plays on the breakout. If she does not have any support options, she uses her size and footwork to skate pucks out of the zone and makes the safe play to put the puck in deep. Clarke’s fast speed with incredible acceleration that takes her from 0 to 10 in a blink of an eye. She uses her great stick handling and puck protection to get the rush started and puts the puck into a safe space when opportunities are not present, demonstrating her smart hockey IQ. A little more strength needed on long distance shots. She shows steady backwards skating that allows her to have her head up and feet moving to stay in great positioning. Needs to apply a little more pressure in defensive zone. Clarke is not afraid to block shots. Grade: B+
Nadia Pirruccio #22 (Burlington Barracudas U18 AA, D, 2027): Pirruccio plays a key defensive role by positioning herself effectively and applying pressure on opponents. She stays close, maintains mobility, and showcases great speed. Her puck handling is strong, allowing her to move the puck accurately. Grade: B+
|McKenna^O’Connor^#29|: O’Connor captains the team and her presence is impactful in all 3 zones of the ice. She is confident with the puck and is calm on the defensive zone breakout. She plays with her head up and makes on target passes to set up her linemates as they enter the offensive zone. O’Connor takes control on the powerplay and is not afraid to take slapshots from the point position if she has a lane. Grade: B+
Angelica Morcone #10 (Ancaster Avalanche U18 AA, F, 2026): Morcone is a dynamic forward with good hockey IQ. She constantly has her head on a swivel to read the pressure and is not afraid to regroup with the puck instead of forcing plays up the ice. She is reliable on the defensive zone breakout due to her footwork – her backward to forward pivots allow her to get in good position to receive passes on the half wall. Grade: B
Addyson Lee #18 (Burlington Barracudas U18 AA, D, 2028): Lee is a strong skater, with a quick first 3 steps and ability to accelerate when needed. She has good puck handling abilities which serves her well on the powerplay both on the offensive blue line and on the breakout. She is calm with the puck on the PP breakout and her smart passes led to an assist on a goal. Grade: B
Ava Dubkowski #21 (Burlington Barracudas U18 AA, F, 2026): Dubkowski is an effortless skater that uses her speed to get in good positioning to receive breakaway passes. She is hard to play against on the PK because when she gets the puck she protects it and keeps possession rather than throwing it back to the opposing team. Grade: B
Lily Crumpton #44 (Burlington Barracudas U18 AA, F, 2025): Crumpton is a reliable forward with a good IQ. She makes simple hockey plays, and has a great saucer pass that feeds her linemates with scoring opportunities. Crumpton is also reliable in the D zone, where she applies pressure to the defenders on the blue line to force them to make mistakes and also gets in shot lanes. She is not afraid to block shots. Grade: B

Avery Mann #10 (Central York Panthers U18 AA, F, 2027): Mann possesses exceptional skating skills with quick, explosive strides. She engages in battles to overpower her opponents and hustles back during backchecks, showcasing her competitive nature and strong awareness. Grade: A-
Sloane Cowan #16 (Central York Panthers U18 AA, D/F, 2027): Cowan is a tenacious competitor who battles hard for the puck and thrives in high-traffic areas. She isn’t afraid to engage physically and do the gritty work needed to create scoring opportunities or regain possession. Her willingness to go to the tough areas of the ice makes her a valuable asset in both offensive and defensive situations. Sloane played her position well in the defensive zone that resulted in a nice blocked shot in the second period. Grade: B+
Charlotte Endicott #21 (Central York Panthers U18 AA, F, 2029): Endicott has excellent offensive zone awareness, consistently reading the play and positioning herself effectively to create scoring chances. Her ability to anticipate the game allows her to make smart decisions and contribute offensively. She made a well-timed pick that nearly resulted in a goal, showcasing her hockey IQ and playmaking instincts. Grade: B+
Lily Latchford #79 (Central York Panthers U18 AA, D, 2027): Latchford excels in shot blocks during the penalty kill and delivers crisp tape-to-tape breakout passes. She plays it safe with the puck, showcasing quick movement. Her skating is decent, particularly in backward transitions, and though small, she demonstrates strong power. While her puck-handling skills are good, her passes would benefit from added power. Grade: B+
Briar Deckers #98 (Central York Panthers U18 AA, D, 2028): Deckers is well-positioned in the defensive zone, outmuscling opponents in puck battles. She maintains strong positioning on backchecks, limiting attackers’ options. She consistently puts in full effort when her team is caught up ice, frequently directing pucks on net. Grade: B+
April McCaughey #9 (Central York Panthers U18 AA, D, 2027): McCaughey plays with an aggressive mindset, consistently pressuring opponents and battling for possession. Her tenacity on the puck is a key strength in her game. However, improving her skating would elevate her overall effectiveness, allowing her to close gaps quicker and create more opportunities offensively and defensively. Grade: B
Abby Brumwell #14 (Central York Panthers U18 AA, F, 2027): Brumwell is a strong skater who moves efficiently up and down the ice. She excels at head manning the puck, making smart passes to advance play and create offensive opportunities. Her skating ability allows her to transition quickly and contribute effectively in all zones. Brumwell broke up the defensive team’s breakout in a great example of her hard work. Grade: B
Mateya Briet #15 (Central York Panthers U18 AA, D, 2027): Briet excels on the penalty kill, effectively limiting time and space. She embraces physicality and competes fiercely for puck battles. In the defensive zone, she plays a strong center role, closing off lanes and covering net-front players. She supports the play throughout the ice. Grade: B
Serena Di Stefano #22 (Central York Panthers U18 AA, F, 2026): Di Stefano finds open space to receive breakout passes and consistently puts pucks on net with a powerful shot. She is effective on the penalty kill, showing aggression and blocking shots when necessary. Her skating is quick, agile, and well-stride, complemented by strong puck handling. She always keeps her head up but needs to apply more defensive pressure in the defensive zone. Grade: B
Kayla Lyn #23 (Central York Panthers U18 AA, F, 2026): Lyn is a quick skater who uses her speed to create space and offensive opportunities. She executes sharp cutbacks in the offensive zone, making her difficult to defend and allowing her to maintain puck possession. Additionally, her hard snapshot adds to her scoring threat, as she can release the puck quickly and with power. Grade: B
Ellie Lewington #77 (Central York Panthers U18 AA, F, 2027): Lewington is strong on faceoffs and consistently gives her team an advantage in puck possession. Her tenacity on the puck stands out, as she battles hard and applies relentless pressure on opponents. However, improving her balance would help elevate her overall game, allowing her to stay stronger on her skates and be more effective in physical battles. Grade: B
Fiona Marley #11 (Central York Panthers U18 AA, D, 2027): Fiona Marley is a strong skater, demonstrating smooth strides and excellent control while carrying the puck. Her ability to skate with confidence allows her to navigate through traffic and transition effectively between zones. She maintained a good gap for this game and made well timed pinches in the offensive zone. This skill makes her a reliable player in both offensive and defensive situations. Grade: B-
Shyla Gamble #17 (Central York Panthers U18 AA, F, 2027): Gamble demonstrates exceptional vision in the offensive zone, delivering seam passes and generating scoring opportunities. She accelerates quickly to outpace defenders and is consistently the first to engage in forechecking. She intercepts passes in the neutral zone and skillfully navigates checks to maintain control of the puck. Grade: B-
Keira Marley #12 (Central York Panthers U18 AA, F, 2027): Keira Marley is a relentless forechecker who applies strong pressure on opposing defenders and works hard to create turnovers. Her effort and tenacity stand out, making her an asset in battles for possession. Mya Youngs #84 (Clarington Flames BAA, F, 2027): Youngs utilizes her speed for quick forechecking and battles along the boards. She effectively protects the puck during aggressive net drives. With strong speed and passing skills, Youngs is unafraid to forecheck and go to the front of the net, demonstrating excellent puck protection. Grade: B+
Aliana Gibson #16 (Clarington Flames U18 AA, F, 2025): Gibson gets her stick in the passing lanes in the neutral zone and intercepts pucks. She uses her size to her advantage. She uses her long reach effectively to cover a lot of ice and steal pucks with an active stick. Grade: B
Taylor Hall #17 (Clarington Flames U18 AA, D, 2027): Hall uses her size and speed effectively as she skates the puck out of the defensive zone and moves up ice into the attacking end. She controls and handles the puck with poise to gain zone entries on the power-play with ease. Her strong stick check causes turnovers in the defensive zone. Grade: B
Daria Manarin #20 (Clarington Flames U18 AA, F, 2026): Manarin uses her good size to her advantage, especially in the face-off circle where she wins battles and draws pucks cleanly to her teammates to start the play with possession. Grade: B
Peyton MacCallum #46 (Clarington Flames U18 AA, F, 2027): MacCallum excels in face-offs, winning draws effectively to gain possession. She possesses good speed and shows decent defensive positioning, although she should apply more pressure at the point. Her compete level is strong. Grade: B
Kylie Haslam #2 (Clarington Flames U18 AA, F, 2027): Haslam applies pressure on the backcheck using her active stick to cause turnovers. Grade: B-

Kathryn Spyhalski #19 (Little Caesars U19, F, 2027): Spyhalski leverages her size to protect the puck and drive towards the net. With 25 seconds remaining in the game, she received a pass and delivered a wrist shot to the top corner, scoring against Leaside. Her quickness enables her to win faceoffs cleanly, allowing her teammates to play with possession. She demonstrates good awareness and speed, which can create breakaway opportunities and lead to accurate shots under pressure. Grade: B+
Kate Malachino #91 (Little Caesars U19, F, 2027): Malachino is successful in the face-off circle. Her quick hands allow her to win a high majority of draws cleanly to start the play with possession. She also reads the opposing center to recognize opportunities to win the draw forward and completes the task successfully. She uses her speed effectively to create space and crash the net for rebound opportunities. Her soft hands allow her to control the puck with poise and navigate through traffic. Grade: B/B+
Nadiya Nadaud #8 (Little Caesars U19, D, 2027): Nadaud uses her long, reach to her advantage and steals pucks with a strong stick check. She carries the puck with her head up and exits the zone with speed to move up ice and gain the attacking end. Grade: B
Taylor Morrison #9 (Little Caesars U19, F, 2026): Morrison’s impressive speed helps her create offensive opportunities and return quickly to defense. She combines good size and follow-up pressure with strong awareness, enabling her to track the puck effectively and score. Grade: B
Katelyn Balagna #16 (Little Caesars U19, D, 2026): Balagna leverages her size effectively when pursuing rebounds and creating scramble opportunities. Her speed and awareness instill confidence in her offensive pressure. Her strong anticipation skills help her generate turnovers, and she is a decent back checker and a good passer. Grade: B

Mackenzie Riches #27 (Durham West Lightning U18 AA, F, 2026, Providence): Riches is a power forward that is tough to play against. She battles hard, outmuscles her opponents, lifts sticks and plays physical. Though she is a strong forward, she also is a fast skater that can blow past defenders up the boards. She uses her speed to chip the pucks off the boards, around the defender, and chases them down 1v1. She plays physically and with good intensity on each shift. She reads the play on the fore check as F2 and wins the puck. Her soft hands and good speed make it easy for her to protect the puck on net drives. Her quick hands in the face-off circle, allow her to win draws cleanly. Grade: B+
Peyton Fleming #29 (Durham West Lightning U18 AA, F, 2027): Fleming is an explosive skater and a playmaker that makes the people around her better by creating a lot of 2v1 scoring opportunities. She is strong on her skates and does not get knocked down easily in battles along the boards. When she finds herself on the perimeter of the ice or in the corner, she uses her body to protect the puck and drives to the middle to create better shooting angles. Her soft hands allow her to control the puck with speed for zone entries. She uses her long, reach to steal the puck and gain the zone. She plays with high intensity on every shift. Her speed allows her to get open for passes, win pucks and create opportunities. Grade: B+
Rachel Talesnik #35 (Durham West Lightning U18 AA, D, 2027): Talesnik steps in from the point and snaps a rocket on net. She drops in and quickly releases a snapshot from the high slot. She gets pucks deep. She is a strong skater who plays heads up and has good vision. Her passes are precise and on target. Grade: B+
Audrey Martone #90 (Durham West Lightning U18 AA, F, 2027): Martone is successful in the face-off circle winning battles to start the play with possession. She can crush a slapshot on the fly to create opportunities. She has soft hands in tight to navigate through traffic and drive to the net for chances. Her passes are flat on the tape. She is a strong skater with smooth crossovers and good speed. She received the pass and completed a backhand deke across the goalie to slide in a nice goal against Weyburn. Grade: B+
Allie Mitchell #14 (Durham West Lightning U18 AA, D, 2028): Mitchell plays physically and battles along the boards. She uses her long reach an active stick to strip pucks from Puck carriers. She has a hard low slapshot from the point for the forwards to deflect. Grade: B
Brooke Docherty #16 (Durham West Lightning U18 AA, F, 2026): Docherty controls and handles the puck with poise to get into position and make a smooth tape to tape pass. She applies hard pressure on the backcheck to disrupt the puck carrier. She has soft hands and good vision as demonstrated by the deke she made and the smooth pass to set up a goal versus Weyburn. Grade: B
Neve Thatcher #25 (Durham West Lightning U18 AA, F, 2027): Thatcher’s quick hands in the face-off circle, allows her to win draws cleanly to start the play with possession. She checks aggressively on the penalty kill to disrupt the power-play breakout. She applies pressure on the backcheck. Grade: B
Marissa Cowling #66 (Durham West Lightning U18 AA, D, 2027): Cowling gets to the middle on the power play and snaps a hard-low shot from the point for the forwards to deflect. Her passes are crisp and on target she makes smooth lead passes for the winger to skate into. She has good size. Grade: B
Taylor Supryka #71 (Durham West Lightning U18 AA, D, 2027): Supruka is a big D with a long powerful stride. She has a long reach with her stick to slow down the attack and makes heads up passes in the neutral zone. Supruka often takes chances and carries the puck up the ice when no other options are available to her. We look forward to seeing her create more plays upon the offensive zone entry instead of bringing the puck to the corner. Her passes are crisp and on target. She waits patiently for the puck carrier to commit then strips the puck with a hard stick check. Grade: B
Cassandra Cardone #79 (Durham West Lightning U18 AA, F, 2027): Cardone is feisty. She has quick hands on the draw to win face-off cleanly to start the play with possess. She found a loose puck in a goal scramble to slam it home for a shorthanded goal against Weyburn. Grade: B
Annabella Di Palma #88 (Durham West Lightning U18 AA, F, 2028): Di Palma gets to the middle on the powerplay to snap a rocket from the point for the forwards to deflect. Grade: B

Angelie Vallee #19 (East Ottawa U18 AA, D, 2027): Vallee is a skilled young defender with excellent potential. She reads the play well due to her hockey IQ and does not panic with the puck. Her backward skating ability allows her to challenge opponents by holding a close gap on the attack to take away time and space. Vallee is not afraid to take risks offensively and often carries the puck up ice to create scoring opportunities. Grade: B+
Kessa Hogue #10 (East Ottawa U18 AA, F, 2027): Hogue is a dynamic forward with great straight-line speed. She skating is equally as impactful on the attack as it is on her relentless backcheck. She is a hard worker, gets after loose pucks, and draws penalties. Hogue has a quick release shot that she unleashes from the tops of the circle and makes simple breakout plays to help her team get out of the defensive zone effectively. Grade: B
Ella Robertson #65 (East Ottawa U18 AA, F, 2026): Robertson is well positioned in the offensive zone and is gritty net front. She is alert when she is in the slot and scored a great goal with her quick release snapshot. In the offensive zone, she makes sure to protect the puck and plays hard to continue trying to score up until the buzzer sounds. Grade: B
Layla Trepanier #91 (East Ottawa U18 AA, D, 2026): Trepanier has a low and hard slapshot that she often unleashes at the blue line. Grade: B-

Miranda Dinelle #91 (Etoiles Laurentides-Lanaudiere U18AA, F, 2025): Dinelle scored a great bar down goal from the slot to bring her team within one point. Grade: B
Eve Noel #77 (Etoiles Laurentides-Lanaudiere U18AA, D, 2025): Noel displays patience and confidence with the puck, capitalizing on opportunities to rush forward. She effectively holds pucks at the offensive blue line and aggressively challenges to intercept passes, generally moving pucks away from danger. Grade: B-
Amelia Trahan #97 (Etoiles Laurentides-Lanaudiere U18AA, F, 2027): Trahan excels at blocking shots and getting into shooting lanes. She maintains strong positioning off the puck and consistently locates loose pucks to generate scoring opportunities. Her anticipation of plays allows her to intercept passes, and she makes intelligent decisions with the puck. Grade: B-
Arielle Desrosiers #93 (Etoiles Laurentides-Lanaudiere U18AA, F, 2026): Desrosiers has a strong work ethic and is able to find open ice in the ozone. Grade: C+
Lovell Academy
Chyna Taylor #9 (Lovell Academy, D, 2027): Taylor exhibits excellent vision and controls much of the power play from the blue line, seizing offensive opportunities. She possesses a powerful low wrist shot, which she recently used to assist a goal against Clarington. A smooth skater with a strong stride, she always keeps her head up and quickly capitalizes on open lanes, particularly in four-on-four situations. Taylor protects the puck while using her speed to transition out of the zone and enter the offensive area. She identifies openings, joins the play, and drives towards the net. With her swift movements, she adeptly maneuvers around defenders and utilizes her quick release snapshot to secure zone entries, returning swiftly to defend. Grade: B+
Caroline Clark #2 (Lovell Academy, F, 2027): Clark is an excellent skater who confidently handles the puck and skates well while doing so. She effectively waits for the right moment to either shoot or pass, utilizing her good size and physical play. During a hard-net drive, she protected the puck, cut to the middle from the off wing, and scored with a powerful wrist shot to the top glove against Clarington. Grade: B
Annabelle Lovell #5 (Lovell Academy, F/D, 2027): Lovell demonstrates exceptional vision in passing, consistently searching for open ice. She is patient with the puck, showcasing quick hands and delivering precise passes during power plays. Her hard wrist shot from the point is ideal for forwards to tip in. She maneuvers the puck swiftly, maintaining awareness of her teammates and opponents. Lovell delivers crisp passes and consistently performs well every shift, reflecting a high hockey IQ. She plays with her head up and leverages her speed effectively. Grade: B
Charlotte Dukovac #10 (Lovell Academy, F): Dukovac gets to the dirty areas net front where she battles for position and gets her stick-on pucks. Great edgework to protect the puck she splits the D and drives the net hard with the puck to create chances. She plays, physically gets body position and takes the body she covers for the defence when they jump up in the offensive zone she checks aggressively and forces errors. Grade: B
Aubryn Monter #11 (Lovell Academy, F, 2027): Monter is strong in the face-off circle. Scored the third goal of the game with a tip in on the powerplay she is a strong skater she transitions from forward to backward and back again very smoothly. She has her head up and finds the open lane to gain zone entry. She controls and handles the puck with poise. She won a net front battle to tap on the puck and like the lamp against Clarington in a four on four situation. Grade: B

Vanessa Marques #7 (Oakville Hornets U18 AA, D, 2026): Marques’ slapshot from the point gets through traffic and to the net to create chances she takes the body. Her wrist shot from the point is low and hard she pinches successfully. Grade: B

Avery Wojtyk #8 (Ottawa Senators U18 AA, F, 2027): Wojtyk is a solid forward that makes a big impact offensively. She uses her speed to take pucks all the way up the ice and when she goes wide she often beats the defence by accelerating up the wall and cutting in to the net. She takes hard off angle shots to generate scoring opportunities and has her head up to set up 1 touch give and go passes with linemates. Defensively, she is a centreman that takes pride in supporting her defence down low. Great acceleration allows her to get in on offensive chances. -She can receive passes well, with balance and precision. She has a good shot that can create rebounds by the sheer power. Grade: A-
Samantha Lewis #16 (Ottawa Senators U18 AA, F, 2027): Lewis’s speed enables a swift 2-on-1 rush. She fakes out the goalie and defender to set up a clever saucer pass, creating a scoring opportunity. Her excellent vision allows her to follow up and capitalize on the rebound for a goal. Grade: A-
Alessia Longo #90 (Ottawa Senators U18 AA, F, 2028): Longo is a good skater that protects the puck well using sharp turns to get away from pressure and protect the puck. In the offensive zone, she creates plays by cycling the puck to her teammates in the corners to keep possession. We look forward to seeing her stop and start when the play transitions/ her team loses the puck instead of looping around because it is less effective. Grade: A-
Grace Greco #19 (Ottawa Senators U18 AA, D, 2025): Greco takes her time with the puck and tries to keep possession when possible. In the D zone she often cuts back behind the net to reset the breakout if there are not support options available rather than forcing things. She keeps her head up and uses her D partner well, often doing D to D passes to each other along the blue line to open up shooting lanes. Grade: B
Delia Cassell #11 (Ottawa Senators U18 AA, F, 2026): Cassell is a forward that uses her quickness to her advantage and consistently beats the defence to pucks on the forecheck / break in. Kylee Strano #14 (London Jr. Devilettes, F/D, 2025): Strano is a leader on the ice, directing warmups and showcasing a high hockey IQ with excellent puck decisions. Consistent work ethic despite running 4 d Byrd keeps her head up and reads the play very well to make simple breakout passes. In offensive zone, she also makes smart give and go passes to move the puck quickly between her and her teammates. Her skating is deceptive when she is behind the net and under pressure – she stops and accelerates hard the other way to shake off the forechecker. Would like to see her continue to challenge herself to maintain a closer gap when she defends the rush. Grade: B+
Lucie Jessop #12 (Stockton St. Mary’s, F, 2027): Confident with the puck on herself, makes nifty moves around defenders, very hard wrist shot. Scored an excellent 5hole goal after finding a rebound to make it 2-1. Hard working on the backcheck and forecheck. Good skater(fast) drives the net hard. Creates plenty of scoring chances. Grade: B+
Brynn Cain #13 (Stockton St. Mary’s, F, 2027): Cain is a skilled forward that makes her presence felt on the ice. She can play in all game situations and is especially impressive on PK where she protects the puck instead and even drives the net to create a wraparound opportunity. Cain is a graceful skater that uses her speed and work ethic on the backcheck. Equally impressed with her toe drag. Grade: B+
Stella Pittis #14 (Stockton St. Mary’s, F, 2025): Pittis is a high impact forward that stands out because of her incredible stick handling ability. Her hands are always moving, even when at top speed. She cradles the puck effortlessly to keep possession, and is able to gracefully pick up bad passes on her backhand. With her skill level, she sometimes tries to do too much and works alone if other players cannot keep up. We look forward to seeing her improve her team game. relentless on pucks nifty moves to beat defenders. Fast skating forward with an average passing ability. Excellent hands to beat defenders. Scored to make it 3-2 after dangling around two defenders and finding the top corner. Relentless effort late in the game despite being down a few goals. Grade: B+
Jessica Purpura #15 (Stockton St. Mary’s, D, 2025): She is calm with the puck on offensive blueline and makes smart decisions with the puck. High energy player. Great low slapshot from the point. Tiara Yu #24 (Stockton St. Mary’s, D, 2025): Though Yu is a reliable defender, she also likes to be involved offensively. Isabelle Li #1 (Winchendon School, F, 2028): Li excels at defending in 2-on-1 and 1-on-1 situations and actively initiates offensive plays to generate scoring opportunities. She exhibits excellent edgework to evade oncoming forecheckers and plays a positionally sound game. Li makes quick decisions with the puck, keeps it in deep, and is very comfortable handling it along the blue line while maintaining strong body positioning. Grade: B+
Haley Hasbargen #14 (Winchendon School, F, 2027): Hasbargen scored a fantastic goal to make it 2-0 by outmaneuvering her defender and finding the five-hole. She displayed excellent patience and edge work to protect the puck in the offensive zone, using her skills to evade defenders and create time. With her head up, she makes smart tape-to-tape passes. She is strong on her skates, rarely getting pushed off the puck, and demonstrates good speed. Additionally, she is a great passer, particularly for breakout plays, and maintains strong defensive positioning. Grade: B+
Amanda Sanchez-Rosen #23 (Winchendon School, D, 2027): Sanchez-Rosen is a skillful player with excellent edge work and passing ability in the neutral zone. She effectively holds the line and actively participates in offensive plays to generate scoring opportunities, evidenced by her assist on the game’s first goal. Confident in her puck-carrying skills, she navigates through checks and delivers a powerful slapshot from the point. A determined player, she gives maximum effort, with superior skating and acceleration that help her easily bypass defenders.
