The second period began with a quick start, Hingham would be penalized early and this would put Marshfield on the power play for a chance to take the lead. Sophomore forward Will Doherty would get a shot from the point while the goalie was screened in front to put Marshfield up 2-1 with 13 minutes left in the period. Thirty seconds later Marshfield would get another one on the board from a Chris Finneran shot from the point that was cleaned up by Colin Doyle in front to put Marshfield up 3-1. Marshfield owned much of the play at the start of the period, beating Hingham to loose pucks. The Harbormen were was able to respond with some zone time of their own a few minutes later and get one back from forward Aidan Brazel who snatched the rebound off a shot in front to beat the goalie low to make it 3-2 with six minutes to go. Hingham took control and got another one minute later with forward Bill Jacobus chipping one over the goalie and going top shelf off to tie it up at 3-3. Hingham would take a penalty shortly after the goal and that allowed Marshfield forward Ryland McGlame to capitalize on a rebound from a Dan Kane shot from the point to put the Rams up 4-3 heading into the third.
The third kicked off with more physical play, Hingham would benefit from a major penalty called on Marshfield to send them on an important man advantage. Brazel would again skate through the faceoff circle and get to another rebound, following up his own shot to tie it up 4-4 with 12 minutes to go. Marshfield goalie Brady Quackenbush made some great saves with 10 minutes to go on a couple of shots in the slot from Hingham to keep this game all tied up. Hingham was able to break the deadlock with nine minutes to go as forward Travis Rugg tipped a puck in the slot off a shot from defenseman Charlie Even at the point which would put them up 5-4 with eight to go. More and more penalties would stack up for each side halfway through the period with Hingham taking a major penalty to give Marshfield a big chance to tie this game up. Hingham goalie Keagin Wilson made some big saves on the five minute penalty kill with Marshfield heating up with under four minutes to go in the third. A minute later forward Colin Doyle was driving towards the net and Kane would send in a shot from the corner that deflected off Doyle to make this game tied at 5-5 with two minutes to go. That completed the hat trick for Doyle on the night and send this Championship Game into overtime.
The first overtime period consisted of a five minute 4-on-4 period and both sides were able to get some good chances early but nothing of concern for either goalie. End-to-end each side went with Hingham controlling the early stages of possession three minutes into the overtime period. Marshfield showed some jump in overtime with a couple rushes but Hingham would have the best opportunity at the end of the period. They would fly in with an odd man rush but once again Quackenbush would deny it and send the game to double overtime.
Starting the 3-on-3 overtime period we had end-to-end action again with chances for both sides. Marshfield would take control in the opening four minutes with the puck cycling up high and down low, looking for a Grade A chance. Hingham would then take control with some offensive zone time a minute later but this would spring Kane of Marshfield to dance around the Hingham defenseman but the attack was thwarted by Wilson. Marshfield would then get the puck down in their zone the next shift and defenseman Jake Hemingway would send it to sophomore Cam McGettrick down the side wall who would wrist one top shelf short side by the goalie to give Marshfield a 6-5 double overtime win.
