U20 World Jr. Championship: Team Austria vs Team Canada, December 29, 2022: In the 11-2 loss to Team Canada Kasper earned 17:41 in TOI, including 0:57 while on the power play and an additional 3:14 while shorthanded. He went 7 for 24 on face-offs, had 2 body checks and 9 takeaways compared to 5 giveaways. Although Austria was overmatched from the start, the 2004 played a hardnosed 200′ game. Whether he was calling out switches in defensive zone coverage or directing teammates while a man down it was easy to see and hear Kasper loudly communicating with his teammates. As a puck carrier he showed a nice combination of strength and confidence as had the quick hands to make defenders lean and the strength to hold off defenders while he looked around the ice surface to make a play. Overall this was a tough one for Austria, but it is easy to see why he plays for Rogle in the SHL.

U20 World Jr. Championship: Team Austria vs Team Finland, December 27, 2021: As a 2004 Marco Kasper is captain of Team Austria. In the 7-1 loss to Finland the left shot enter earned 18:49 TOI, including a game high 3:24 while on the power play. Statistically he finished -4 and only won 2 of 15 face-offs, but there was much more to his game than these stats. He played very confidently in traffic choosing to attack the scoring areas with little regard for his well being. We also like that he finished the game with 4 body checks, but we really liked his ability to finish the check and then sprint back into the open ice while his opponent often times had to gain their balance. Kasper led Austria with 7 takeaways and genuinely played the game with a chip on his shoulder looking like he had something to prove.
