This game was pretty scrappy after whistles with many scrums, Tri-City had lots of powerplay time and controlled the pace for the most part with the amount of powerplays. 5 on 5 was relatively even, but both goaltenders played very well and kept this game tight until the end, with Tri-City sealing the game late with an empty net goal.
Brady Ness is a big (6’4′, 215 lbs) defenseman who plays with an edge and makes his presence felt. He protects the front of his net with authority and works hard to clear pucks.
Akseli Pulkkanen is a left-handed center of smaller stature who played on the first line and was used in all situations; power play, penalty kill, the final minutes with the extra attacker, overtime, and he also took part in the shootout, where he scored with a confident move. He delivered a consistent performance throughout the game and was especially impactful in the second and third period.
This back and forth matchup needed overtime to decide a winner, which came as no surprise given how evenly matched these two teams were. A few standout individual efforts on both sides helped keep things tight throughout. The Rebels made the most of their special teams, converting on two of three power play opportunities, while the Broncos were unable to capitalize on any of their four chances, a key difference in the outcome.
Dexter Strömgren is a poised, two-way defenseman with excellent gap control and composure under pressure. Though he didn’t record a point in this game, with his 21+ minutes of icetime he was a stabilizing force on the back end by closing lanes early, breaking up entries with an active stick, and turning pucks up ice with clean, flat first passes.
he hometown Kelowna Rockets jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but could not hold on against the WHL’s number one team the Everett Silvertips, and lost 3-2. Julius Miettinen led the way with a goal and assist for the Tips with Rhys Jamieson scoring the winner early in third. Daniel Pekar and Will Sharpe each had a goal and assist for the Rockets. Recently acquired Anders Miller was very good in the net making 35 stops for Everett.
The Hometown Penticton Vees jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, that could have been a lot more if not for the steady goaltending of the Wenatchee Wild’s Tobias Tvrznik who stopped 32 of 34 shots in the game. Work horses, Luka Shcherbyna and Caelan Joudrey scored quickly back to back in the second, with Rui Han scoring on a nice individual effort in the third for the winner. Make the final 4-2 with an empty net goal.
Guelph Storm vs. Kingston Frontenacs Despite two quick goals from the Frontenacs to open the game, it was all Guelph from there. The Storm responded with five straight tallies, taking control and skating to a commanding 6–3 victory. It was a quiet night for the special teams, as all nine goals came at even strength.
he first period was fairly back and forth with the only real good scoring chances being goals, the second period was controlled by Calgary mostly, and the third period was controlled by Portland for the first 10 minutes. The game was a little choppy to start but fairly back and forth with both teams taking control for extended periods of time. Calgary made a late push after a Portland eventual game winning goal with 5 mins left in the game.

The hometown Kelowna Rockets jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but could not hold off the visiting Medicine Hat Tigers, who prevailed 4-3 in overtime. Carson Wetsch led the way for the Rockets with a goal and two assists. The Tigers had four different goal scorers with the winner going to Dayton Reschny in overtime. Carter Casey was very good in net for the Tigers, making 37 saves on 40 shots.
This game was even all night and both teams generated some good looks on the power play and 5 on 5. The goaltenders made some big saves and kept the game tight. Edmonton had a late push to tie the game up, with an eventual shootout. Spokane stopped all 3 shootout attempts to seal the win.
Very athletic between the pipes, Moves very well for his size, very good technique, plays a touch too deep at times, obviously wasn’t tested too much during the game vs Foreurs, but when he was he responded.

This high scoring matchup saw half of its goals come in the opening period, but the team that started strong could not finish the job. Sherbrooke showed real resilience, shaking off a rough first period and tightening up defensively in front of their goaltender to take control and come away with the win.
Friday’s game was played in Lahti. The home team, Pelicans, was the better side for most of the match, even though Ässät won the first period. From the second period on, the home team took control of the game and eventually secured a well-deserved win.
Jordan Switzer did his job to ensure a Tigers win tonight. He is an aggressive, athletic, and composed goaltender for the Medicine Hat Tigers. Jordan is very quick post-to-post, using an explosive push to get square to far-side shots. Zachary Morin impressed in the game with his exceptional ability to read and react in traffic. He showcased creativity and playmaking skills, often using his speed and agility to create opportunities for himself and teammates in open ice.
This tightly contested game needed extra time to find a winner. The Wheat Kings were just a minute away from securing the regulation win before the Pats tied it late. In the end, it was Jordan Gavin who sealed the victory for Brandon with the game winning goal in the shootout.
