
Belmont, MA – Belmont Hill hosted ISL rival St. Sebastian’s on Wednesday at 5:00 PM in an essential matchup for league and postseason positioning. Tommy Sauliner started in the net for the Arrows, and Keagin Wilson for Belmont Hill.
The first period was even, and there were chances at both ends. 2009 Cade Noonan snapped the first goal 6:23 into the first with a wicked shot in full flight assisted by Jack Kelleher. The first frame ended with a 1-0 lead for the Arrows.
Two minutes into the second period, Belmont Hill’s Andrew Waugh found a Jin Lee rebound, held the puck smartly, and scored the equalizer at the net front. Harry Lavoie added an assist. Six minutes later, Lovoie popped home a beautiful pass from Waugh to give the Hillies their first lead. Lee also added an assist. With a minute left, Patrick Woods rifled home the puck with assists to David Bosco and Andrew Giguere, giving Belmont Hill a 3-1 lead headed into the third.
Belmont Hill finished off the Arrows in the third period. Michael Sullivan added a fourth goal from Matt Carolan and Giguere. 11:54 into the final stanza. Next, Lance Toland tipped a Grayson Cohen shot from the air for the final score. Evan Jones added an assist. It ended 5-1 Belmont Hill.
The win will move Belmont Hill up into the top eight for now. They play at Thayer on Valentine’s Day. St. Sebastian’s will host Lawrence on Friday.
