Morandum Thoughts: Next Gen Showcase

The Boston Hockey Club put on an Uncommitted Showcase at Merrimack on June 7th and 8th. I was only able to attend Game #2 on the second day, but the game had a fast pace and there were a few players that are bouncing around my brain.

USHL Draft: Mount St. Charles 2005s

I remember the first time I saw him play in Exeter, New Hampshire in February of 2020. I loved his compete and awareness. That weekend had some NTDP kids playing, but Christian is the kid I remember first when I think back to that weekend. He just made the plays that I would want as a coach, and he made them look routine.

USHL Draft: Mid Fairfield 2005s

The 2005 group for Mid Fairfield has been exceptional. This year they had five players selected in the USHL Drafts as well as having an additional four players selected for the NTDP Team. Here is a look at the players selected in the USHL drafts and some of their Neutral Zone evaluations as move from U15s on to USHL prospects.

USHL Draft: NV River Rats 15U AAA

The NV River Rats 15U AAA team had two highly skilled forwards selected in the draft. Both play with pace, protect the puck well and are not afraid to fire the puck while in traffic. In this review we take a look at Cam Russo and Joey Zheng’s progression from U14 standouts to potential USHL power forwards with speed.

USHL Phase 1 Draft: Boston Jr Eagles

The Boston Jr. Eagles organization showed well in both the Phase I Futures Draft and the Phase II 2021 USHL Drafts. In total they had 14 players drafted and an additional 3 players attended the NTDP’s 40 man camp. In this draft recap we focus on their 2005 birth year players who were selected in the Phase 1 Futures draft and their evaluations as they’ve progressed through U14 hockey into potential USHL players.
