Our scouts have compiled the following ranking set from the 2023-2024 Minnesota Girls High School hockey season. The top 2024 graduating players are evaluated in specific number order below.
- Ayla Puppe #9 (Northfield, F, 2024, Minnesota) : Ayla is a strong and confident high energy player. She can make the difference in a game. She has great hands and a phenomenal release. She is locked in and ready to go. Her game stays the same, and she gets her job done. Ayla is a very dangerous and talented player. Strong and disciplined, she puts points on the board in a big way. A natural goal scorer, she is a threat every time she steps on the ice. She can be intimidating with her presence and it’s no wonder she won Ms. Hockey 2024. Ayla can be at times untouchable.
- Chloe Boreen #18 (Hill Murray High School, F, 2024, St. Thomas) : Chloe is a force on the ice. A very determined and disciplined hockey player who can make the difference in a game. She is quick, works hard and has grit. Her soft hands, speed, and ability to find a way around her opponent set her apart from others. Chloe is a high caliber player with enough energy to last games on end. Fun to watch and hard to play against. She can be unpredictable and dangerous with the puck. Dependable. A playmaker and a natural goal scorer. Chloe is one of the top players in the league for a reason.
- Hannah Halverson #10 (Edina High School, F, 2024) : Halverson has sick hands. She knows how to control it and how to be crafty. She can play a physical game giving her an edge up. She is strong on it and knows how to produce. She has crazy good hockey sense and can score gorgeous goals from all different angles. Halverson is an elite player who can be dangerous with the puck. She has speed that can be hard to match when she’s in her zone. A team player, she plays to win.
- Lindzi Avar #13 (Minnetonka High School, F, 2024) : Avar is as reliable as they come. She knows how to produce and she is a leader in many ways. She is a team player who can be sneaky behind the play and crafty with the puck. She is highly talented, and she has a high compete level. Avar has great hands and great skating abilities. She is fast and strong, and she is a threat in many ways.
- Josie St. Martin #7 (Stillwater High School, F, 2024, Ohio State) : Josie is a huge threat. One of the smartest players in the game, she is dangerous any time her skates hit the ice. Another high energy player who can command the play and figure a way out of any bad situation. A positive team player, she isn’t in it for herself. She is calm and she is reliable. Josie answers the call. She can be sneaky and unpredictable. A goal scorer by nature, she will do whatever it takes to put her team on the board and win games.
- Kendra Distad #14 (Minnetonka High School, F, 2024, Minnesota) : Kendra is a strong player that puts forth every bit of effort she has, each game she plays. She doesn’t quit and is dangerously skilled. She produces and becomes a leader on the ice. She is physical and does things for the betterment of her team. She is a serious player with a big heart and passionate.
- Bella Shipley #8 (Maple Grove High School, F, 2024, Minnesota) : Shipley is strong and skilled. She is a consistent and reliable player who always comes ready to go. She is a leader and capable in any situation. She is quick-witted and she can out smart and out play her opponents. Shipley has great hockey IQ and can be dangerous in front of the net. A goal scorer who can also put the puck on the stick of her linemates to put it in the net.
- Taylor Porthan #6 (Edina High School, D, 2024) : Porthan has confidence. She is reliable and smart. She has speed and no hesitation. She goes towards the puck and wants to be involved in the play rather than sitting back waiting for it. She can take it herself if she needs to and plays with passion and heart. Her intelligence and skills stand out and are a great asset.
- Kate Kosobud #15 (Moorhead High School, D, 2024) : Kosobud is a dependable defender. She is smart and keeps her head on a swivel. She has great vision and keeps pucks in the offensive zone. She protects it and gets pucks to the net. She can handle the pressure and takes advantage of her opportunities. Kosobud doesn’t throw pucks away she reads and reacts to it. She is a top player and defender and can out muscle her opponent.
- Addison Bowlby #22 (Lakeville North High School, F, 2024) : Bowlby is a strong and reliable player. She can put pucks in the net and can set herself apart from others with her skill and ability. She can be crafty and dangerous with the puck. Addie has been proving herself for years now and she doesn’t back down from a battle or a challenge. She is smart and driven no matter what the situation. Switching teams midway through your high school career isn’t easy, but she’s made it work.
- Ilsa Lindaman #19 (Duluth Marshall, F, 2024, St. Thomas (Minn.)) : Ilsa is a player who knows how to get things done and put pucks in the back of the net. She has willpower and another level she can go to when the going gets tough. She has speed and she makes the most out of her opportunities. She can analyze the situation and make the best decisions. She is strong and difficult to defend. Ilsa is a smart player with confidence and grit.
- Autumn Cooper #21 (Superior, F, 2024, Bemidji) : Cooper could have been noticed a few years ago. She has great hockey IQ and can move in and out of traffic and make it look easy. She makes those around her better. She has great energy and knows how to produce. She is a threat in the offensive zone with or without the puck and can take advantage of her opportunities. A talented and skilled player. Cooper is selfless and plays for the W.
- Taylor Brueske #3 (Moorhead High School, F, 2024) : Brueske can be a force. She is strong with or without the puck and makes things happen. She is persistent and doesn’t back down. Her determination and physical ability allow her to win the majority of her battles. She can be a playmaker who knows how to produce. Brueske is a great asset to any team.
- Grace Bickett #20 (Orono High School, D, 2024, Wisconsin) : Bickett is smart, physical and controls the play. She keeps great gap control and uses her body to defend. She knows how to hold the O zone using any body part she has to and will keep control of the puck. She has great vision and is a set up person from the blue line. Bickett will be missed next year for Orono.
- Carly Humphrey #14 (Elk River-Zimmerman High School, D, 2024) : Humphrey has a wicked release and can put the puck in the net. She plays with little to no hesitation. If she sees the opportunity to step up and take control of the play, she will. Smart and physically tough, she is hard for opposing forwards to beat. She is slick and crafty with great hands and great puck control. An aggressive player at times, she plays to win games.
- Hannah Graves #6 (Proctor/ Hermantown, F, 2024) : Graves is strong on the puck. She does a great job in the offensive zone and creating opportunities for her team. She knows the game and plays an aggressive and physical style. She doesn’t stop and battles for everything. Graves is skilled and controls the puck in and out of traffic. She has great momentum and is a reliable player. She is smart, quick and can generate a lot of offense.
- Ella Holm #5 (Moorhead High School, F, 2024) : Ella has been making an impact for the last few years. She is determined and shows up to play. She battles and makes positive things happen for her team. Ella can turn a bad situation into a good one. She has a great work ethic and puts everything into it. She is confident and can be a difference maker. A playmaker and a team player.
- Gracie Hanson #6 (Lakeville North High School, F, 2024) : Gracie is a great playmaker. She has great vision and makes good decisions. Sher showed up ready to play for Hockey Day Minnesota. She takes advantage of her moments and is relied upon. Gracie has a great release and can put pucks in the net. A team player and a playmaker who ended the season with 50 points, 34 of which were assists.
- Addison Finn #22 (Stillwater High School, F, 2024) : Finn is a crafty player who can move in and out of traffic with little problem. She becomes very effective in the offensive zone with or without the puck. She plays consistently and can make a difference in the outcome of a game. She does a really good job on the draw and puts herself in the right place. Finn is a competitor who plays the entire 200 feet.
- Audrey Garton #12 (Holy Angels, F, 2024, Minnesota State) : Garton is a speedy quick-witted player. She has great reaction time and anticipation. She is smart and controls the puck well. She can be a crafty forward who can put pucks in the back of the net. Garton can put the puck where she wants it and can use her backhand to do so.
- Allie Pleimann #28 (Orono High School, D, 2024) : Pleimann has great energy and speed. She can take it the length of the ice and generates offense. She is skilled and aware. She has nice hands and controls it around the perimeter while looking for her outlet. A playmaker, Pleimann is skilled at getting the puck to her teammates in front of the net.
- Avery Achterkirch #10 (Rogers High School, F, 2024, Bemidji) : Avery has good vision and a nice work ethic. She can take the puck the length of the ice and to the net. She has a good release and gets shots on goal. She can make good things happen out of bad situations. Avery will do whatever she can to get the win. She can pressure hard to cause turnovers and she will take advantage of her moments.
- Bella Lamere #8 (Holy Angels, F, 2023, St. Olaf) : LaMere has good momentum and can win the small ice battles. She has speed and can win the race to the puck. She can put pucks in the net and becomes a great playmaker. LaMere has good vision and gets open for the puck. She can sneak in behind you and steal pucks. She does a nice job utilizing her teammates.
- Izy Fairchild #27 (Proctor/ Hermantown, F, 2024, Bemidji) : Fairchild has really good vision and does a nice job on the draw. She can be aggressive and plays with drive and determination. She can be hard to defend or fend off as she can fly into the zone and disrupt the play. She takes advantage of mistakes and makes the most out of her opportunities.
- CeCe Hanson #36 (Rosemount High School, D, 2024) : CeCe puts herself in good positions and at the right time. She gets pucks to the net and follows up the play. She generates offensive chances and uses her body to puck protect. CeCe doesn’t shy away from the physical side either. She knows how to put points on the board and finds a way to give her team a winning edge.
- Emerson Garlie #13 (Northfield, F, 2024) : Garlie had a nice season. She’s a smart player and plays with an aggressive side. She gets open and puts herself in scoring positions. She reads and reacts and controls the puck. Garlie does a nice job protecting the puck and has nice net front presence. She had numerous points on the season and ended her run with a State Tournament appearance.
- Lily Timmons #31 (Stillwater High School, G, 2024) : Timmons can show up in the big moments and knows how to handle the pressure. She stays with it and keeps her cool. She doesn’t easily get flustered. She knows her angles and shuts down the back door. She will come out to challenge the play and has good mobility. Timmons can go the distance and has good endurance.
- Molly Pohlkamp #5 (Brainerd-Little Falls, F, 2024) : Molly is a feisty strong little player who can generate offensive chances. She plays with passion and confidence. Molly pulls her weight and comes ready to play. She can be aggressive and doesn’t back down from a battle.
- Grace Chapman #29 (Blaine School, F, 2024) : Chapman controls it really well and keeps her head up. She does a nice job in front of the net and can put the puck behind the goalie with a nice release. She has good puck protection and keeps the puck close to her body. She has speed and becomes a producer. Offensively she does a nice job.
- Hailey Dawe #22 (White Bear Lake, D, 2024) : Dawe is a competitor. She has good size and she uses her body to battle and fight for control. She uses her length to get pucks off the stick of her opponent. She can make good things happen and is relied upon. She can play up or back and is strong on it.
- Ashley Wagenbach #8 (Lakeville North High School, D, 2024) : Ashley is a team player who sets it up and can create from the blue line. She is unselfish but also has an aggressive side. She has no problem bringing the puck in when the opportunity presents itself. She showed up to play against a strong Warroad team. She has nice anticipation and moves the opposing forwards away from the net. A nice player.
- Zoe Timmons #7 (White Bear Lake, D, 2024) : Timmons can create chances from the blue line and does a good job keeping pucks in the offensive zone. She pinches down and can take control. She does a nice job on special teams and has an aggressive side to go with the puck when she sees the opportunity. Timmons finds a way to get the puck to the net.
- Jana Lesch #24 (Bloomington Jefferson High School, F, 2024) : Lesch is a heads-up player who can make positive things happen in the offensive zone. She utilizes her teammates and knows how to produce. She keeps her eye on it and has good vision. Lesch will get her share of scoring chances and can put the puck behind the goalie.
- Kayla Simonson #30 (Delano High School, G, 2024, Augsburg) : Simonson is quick in net and side to side. She is mobile with good agility. She was able to stop a tough Proctor/Hermantown team numerous times. She gave her team a chance and kept them in the game. She shut it down and stated confident. Simonson some great saves on point blank shots and made some amazing saves.
- Sydney Meyers #8 (East Ridge High School, F) : Meyers has good instincts and reaction time. She gets her share of chances through hard work and determination. She is energetic and finds a way to get the puck to the net. She gets these bursts of speed that help propel her into the zone. Meyers does need to work on controlling it a little more.
- Aune Boben #5 (Hibbing-Chisholm, F, 2024) : Aune has been a consistent and reliable player for years. She makes things happen and can give her team a winning chance. She creates and can put the puck in the net. She uses her head and has the vision to set up the play for a scoring chance. A playmaker and a leader. She uses her body and does a nice job protecting the puck. She works hard and is a good kid.
- Becca Brendalen #2 (Bloomington Jefferson High School, F) : Becca plays well with her linemates. She can be feisty and has the ability to command the play in front of the net. She is offensive minded and scored just seconds into the game. A team player who follows it up and supports the puck.
- Ella Johnson #4 (Two Rivers/St. Paul, F) : Ella can be hard working and relentless on the puck. She pressures hard and gets after it. She crashes the net and gets opportunities in the slot. She keeps her stick on the ice and ready to go.
- Ella Hansen #7 (New Prague, F, 2024, Wisconsin Eau-Claire) : Hansen does a nice job playing her position and brings good energy and momentum to the game. She moves her feet and goes in the direction of the puck. She gets her chances but could be a little more aggressive. She has the right idea in mind so she could really benefit from doing better at finishing.
- Gianna Kowalkoski #18 (Eden Prairie High School) : Gianna has some speed and can put her head down and go. She has a nice release and plays with high intensity. She is a competitive player who can make good things happen. She generates a lot of offense and makes great passes. She would be a nice addition to any team.
- Lily Anderson #7 (Eagan High School, D, 2024) : Anderson can be aggressive and has the speed to take the puck the length of the ice. She had a beautiful rush for a goal against Apple Valley. She can come up in big moments. She does a nice job holding the offensive zone and keeping pucks in play. Eagan could have used her aggressiveness even more this struggling season.
- Claire Riestenberg #9 (Robbinsdale Armstrong/Cooper, F) : Claire has been picking up her game and trusting herself and her instincts. She finds a way to produce and has good vision. She has been an asset to her team and has helped win games.
- Sophia Quinn #11 (Willmar, F) : Sophia can be gritty and makes things happen offensively. She creates chances and uses her outlets. She takes it wide and uses the perimeter of the ice to buy space and time before moving it. She can get pucks to the net and follows up behind.
- Ellie Schmidt #30 (New Prague, G) : Ellie made some fantastic saves against a strong and top level Orono team. She was peppered like crazy and remained calm in net. She made some goal saving stops and never gave up. Eventually there was only so much she could do. She starts strong and can come up in the big moments but after a while there’s only so much in the tank.
- Adrienne Hansen #3 (North Wright County, F) : Hansen can carry and control it down the ice and into the O zone. She makes good things happen and generates offense. She has good energy. She has the vision and speed to find her way around the perimeter and to the net. Hansen has some know-how and finds her outlets.
- Maggey Plante #11 (East Grand Forks, F, 2024) : Plante does a nice job playing in every zone of the ice. She can intercept and steal pucks away giving her team possession of the puck. She doesn’t give up on it and is a team player. Plante opens up to the play and has nice anticipation.
