November Commitments: ECAC Conference and U Sports Have a Big Month

This month’s commitment list is a little lighter than October’s was, but it still hits hard! The ECAC Conference came in shooting from all angles as they commit a couple of 4 stars amongst 11 total players across 8 schools. The Canadian U Sports had a big month as well with 9 recruits signing commits for next season across 7 schools. Overall 33 players committed in November to furthering their education and hockey careers, 23 of them forwards, 5 defenders, and 5 goalies.

(F) Hannah Fetterolf (★★★★): Commits to Princeton for 2024

The Pittsburgh native put up excellent numbers playing U14/16 for the Pens Elite and then went on to Shattuck’s and did the same for their U16 program. Now the four star recruit is showcasing her skills on the Shattuck’s prep squad for the next two seasons before she joins the Princeton Tigers in the 2024-25 season.

NZ Scouts say: ‘Fetteroff has a lot of toughness in her game. She is not afraid of contact and will initiate the contact along the board to create turnovers. She puts a lot of zip on her passes and then quickly moves her feet, especially on regroups. Her quick passes help create fast transition plays for her team.

(F) Samantha Broz (★★★★): Commits to Brown for 2023

Broz put up 41 points in 24 games last year for the Blake School in the Minnesota High School Hockey League and is projected to a higher mark of 54 points this season. The dynamic left handed 4 star forward will head to Rhode Island next season and don the brown, red, and white for the Brown Bears in the ECAC.

NZ Scouts say: “Her passing is top notch with excellent vision to feed the net or set a rush in motion. Broz gets to the middle of the ice and can let go a rocket of a shot. She is a physical, speedy, and agile player with a high compete level.”

(F) Myah Krueger (★★★3/4): Commits to St. Cloud for 2024

The Huskies add a 3.75 star to their lineup for the 24-25 season. The speed right handed forward comes straight out of Stillwater High School in Minnesota where she’s projected to put up over a point per game.

NZ Scouts say: “Her hustle is what really stood out, she’s a relentless forechecker and penalty killer, she’s quick to her points in the defensive zone and she causes turnovers for opposing  defenders with her speed.”

(F) Raegan Wurm (★★★3/4): Commits to Maine for 2023

The Maine Black Bears are picking up a strong power forward for their 23-24 season. The Buffalo, MN native will finish out her high school career with the Buffalo Bisons this season and then lace ‘em up for a strong Black Bears squad where she will look to make an impact on the HEA.

NZ Scout say: “Wurm is a strong skater who battles successfully along the boards and sets up a good net presence to pounce on rebounds or tip point shots. She’s a strong winger that pressures and passes well, makes smart plays.”

(D) Sydney Putrah (★★★1/2): Commits to Dartmouth for 2024

The Big Green added a 3.5 star to their roster in the 2024-25 season. The left handed defender will bring size and skill to the Thompson Arena in hopes of helping Dartmouth get back to the NCAA tournament.

NZ Scouts say: “She plays with a competitive edge. She is skilled and smart, which makes her a reliable defender. Her hard work ethic can be seen on both special teams and even strength situations.”

As Robert Morris looks to bring back Division 1 hockey to the Pittsburgh area next season, they are putting together some quality pieces as building blocks. One of those excellent building blocks will be Levinson from the Chicago Mission. The smaller sized forward will bring plenty of skill to the island for Bobby Mo.

NZ Scouts say: “ She showcased great hand-eye coordination on that redirect, and didn’t even seem surprised it went in. The small sized grinder showed that she was not one dimensional and has an offensive flare in her game.”

(F) Lily Fetch (★★★1/4): Commits to Maine for 2023

Fetch put up a whopping 44 points in 25 games last season for East Ridge High in Minnesota High School Hockey. Fetch will join the Maine Black Bears next season and looks to continue her offensive production in Maine Blue.

NZ Scouts say: “… she has a quick release and deceptive power on her wrist shot but it’s her vision and passing ability that sets her apart. She sauces the puck over sticks with ease, she makes passes into the soft areas for teammates to skate unto and when she needs to snap it off for long range or cross ice passes she can do that as well. It’s not just the delivery that impresses but the fact she can find lanes that most do not see and does it with pace.”

(F) Bella Shipley (★★★): Commits to Minnesota-State for 2024

The Maple Grove assistant captain was a standout last season with 48 points in 30 games. This year she’s cracked it up a notch and is on pace for 75 points in the Minnesota High School Hockey League. (G) Naomi Baechler (★★★): Commits to Yale for 2024

Baechler has another two seasons to continue to hone her craft as a netminder. But come the 2024-25 season, she will pull on the Yale Bulldog’s sweater and take the ice at the Ingalls Rink. The skilled netminder will look to shut down some rubber to help the Bulldogs continue their quest for another NCAA Tournament bid.

(F) Zoe Ziotas (★★★): Commits to RIT for 2024

Ziotas still has another year plus this season with the highly skilled Durham West squad. But in 2024 the 3 star will join the RIT Tigers roster to battle it out in the CHA.

NZ Scouts say: “The forward is patient, has good vision, and keeps her head up to find the spot to skate with the puck or feed a linemate with a crisp lead pass.”

(F) Brianna Livingstone (★★1/2): Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for 2023

Livingston may be that player flying under the radar this month and Rensselaer Polytechnic might again. The Etobicoke Jr. Dolphins defender will lace ‘em up for the Engineers next season.
