PIP Exeter Showcase

The 2023 Exeter Showcase had a great mix of U16 and U19 teams from across North America. The following is our scouting report from the entire showcase. Players are listed under their team names in descending letter grade order.

OHA Gold 

Mikayla Dunford-Woods (OHA Juniors, D, 2025) : Mikayla is a very consistent defenseman who is reliable to make a good play up ice. We saw her turn the net with her head up looking to break the puck out of the zone as smoothly and quickly as she could. She can evade pressure if there is any and make a smart pass to avoid a turnover. B

Wizards Jr. 

Sasha Mitchell (Beaver Country Day School, F, 2026) : Sasha plays very hard which matches well with good skating that gets her to where she needs to be on the ice in a hurry. She has no quit in her game and will hustle around the ice and is not afraid to get in the high traffic areas and battle for pucks. B-

Dallas Stars Elite U19

Josselyn Drayson (Dallas Stars Elite U19, F, 2023) : Joss likes to battle hard along the boards for possession of the puck. When she has control of the puck she will always get pressure on the goalie and pucks on the cage to cause traffic and rebounds. She is good down low in the corners to maintain possession of the puck and evades pressure using her body. She also has good edges that allow her to move quickly around the net to pick up loose pucks and rebounds. B+

Bk Selects U19

Anabella Fanale (Rochester Youth Hockey – BK Selects U19, F, 2025) : Bella has great hands to escape from pressure and to maneuver around the ice to avoid turning it over. She is a strong skater with good edges which makes it hard to knock her off balance or steal the puck off her stick. She is so strong along the boards and can win possession of the puck which helps her get to an area where she can shoot and put a very heavy and hard shot on net. A

Finley McCarthy (Rochester Youth Hockey – BK Selects U19, F, 2024, Wisconsin) : Finley has great hands that match well with her great and effortless looking skating ability due to how well she skates with the puck. She is strong along the boards and battles hard to win the puck to create more offensive chances. She can pass the puck extremely well and can create great offense all on her own using her feet and creativity with the puck. She is also visibly a good leader on the ice by telling her teammates what she wants and not afraid to say something to a struggling teammate. A

Nela Lopusanova (Rochester Youth Hockey – BK Selects U19, F, 2026) : Nela has awesome IQ to make crafty and quick plays to her teammates. She is good at putting the puck to an area if there cannot be a tape to tape pass made. Her creativity on the powerplay is also special to watch and she can find anyone on the ice to set them up for a goal. Her love for the game is also seen, due to her hard play and due to her body language when she does not have a near perfect shift.  A-

Rae Mayer (Rochester Youth Hockey – BK Selects U19, F, 2025) : Rae can really motor up and down the ice and be first to pucks. She has good hands that allow her to get up into the offensive zone well and create strong offensive zone pressure. She is also very trusted to get pucks in deep which keeps pressure out of the defensive zone and more goals for, rather than against . B+

Northwood

Oceanne Thiffault (Northwood School, G, 2026) : We were in attendance for BK selects vs Northwood and Oceanne deserves a whole article for herself after this performance we saw. She was the reason the game was remotely close. She was calm and collected and up for the task of the many shots she was facing. She moves well in the crease and shows athleticism to make tough cross crease saves. A

Brooke Kelley (Northwood School, F, 2024) : We apologize for missing Brooke in our NAHA report. She plays a great game where she shields the puck and avoids pressure from top tier talent. She is also a strong skater who is tough to knock off the puck and is strong along the boards to win puck battles. B

Wizards 

Nora Curtis (Williston Northampton School, F, 2025, Cornell) : Nora is a strong and taller forward who has fast hands to allow her to get into space so she can play make or put a shot on the cage. She is vocal on the ice which shows her intensity and helps her teammates find her on the ice to create offense. She also likes to drive to the net and create havoc in front and is very hard to defend along the boards which helps Nora’s team keep possession inside the offensive zone. A-

Monique Lyons (Williston Northampton School, F, 2024, Brown) : Monique is easily compared to Brad Marchand. She is speedy with and without the puck and very tough for her size. She is good along the boards and not easily shoved off the puck. She has quick feet that get her to loose pucks and shooting areas in a hurry and she gets her shot off quick which results in scoring which we were able to see more than once. B+

Kennedy Walker (New Hampton School, F, 2025, Yale) : Kennedy has good hands that allow her to play keep away with defenders and skate up the ice smoothly and in a hurry to get into the offensive zone. She has a heavy shot that she can snap off quickly and in little space which makes her a strong shooting threat. B+

Morgan McGathey (Thayer Academy, F, 2025, Harvard) : Morgan is very hard working and can really motor around the ice. Her feet are always moving and that gets her to loose pucks and makes her a very capable forechecker. She can also battle for the puck well and use her frame to come up with the puck. B+

Hannah Weyerhaeuser (BB&N, F, 2025, Yale) : Hannah can cycle the puck very well which keeps the puck moving and makes it harder for the defense to defend. She is a smart player because she uses her teammates by getting them involved in the offense and has good vision to find anybody to set them up. She also skates well with the puck which helps her get to areas of the ice to find a good opportunity to showcase her playmaking ability. B+

OHA Prep U18 AA

Adriana Pepe (OHA Prep MAA, F, 2027) : Adriana is a good two-way player who has her hockey mind as her best attribute. She can read the opponents trying to exit the zone and support the play by putting herself in a good position to force turnovers. She has a strong reach that also allows her to cover a good portion of the defensive zone and make herself even more useful as a penalty killer. She also can play the game offensive by giving good tape to tape passes to her teammates to keep the puck in her team’s possession. B

Amelia Leonard (OHA Prep MAA, D, 2026) : Amelia has good poise to not jump the gun and get rid of the puck to the first play she sees. She picks her head up and finds the open player to progress the play. She also is good along the boards to gain possession of the puck and use her playmaking ability to generate scoring chances. B-

Dallas Stars Elite U16

Haven Mills (Dallas Stars Elite U16, D, 2026) : Haven was a reliable defenseman who had strong keep-ins and kept plays alive by keeping pressure in the offensive zone. She was good at picking up her head and finding shooting lanes where she could put a hard low shot on net to create offensive chances. She also works hard down low and along the boards to win puck battles and exits the defensive zone as quickly as possible. B

MacKenna McDougall (Dallas Stars Elite U16, D, 2026) : Mackenna was not afraid to pinch into the offensive zone and perish a chance at the other team exiting the zone. She does what every good defenseman does and that is either pinch for the puck or taking the opposing player’s body. She has a good stick that gets in the way of passing and shooting lanes as well as avoiding threats to get into a shooting area. She is also good at getting the puck off her stick as quickly as possible which allows very little time for the opposition to see a shot coming. B

Addison Alaoui (Dallas Stars Elite U16, F, 2025) : Addison is a good skater who uses her edges to move around the perimeter of the ice looking for passing lanes. She uses her edges to give opponents her back so she can shield the puck from getting poked off her stick. She is also strong along the boards to win pucks and is fearless in front of the net and will drive to pick up rebounds and create offense. B-

Jhoni Takin (Dallas Stars Elite U16, F, 2025) : Jhoni is a great passer and that is due to her vision on the ice. She likes to find passing lanes off the boards because she is very good at fighting for possession of the puck. She plays hard with a high motor and has no shortness of effort. B-

OHA Tardiff 

Adel Marton (OHA Tardiff Jrs, D, 2023) : Adel seems to be an offensive defender. We like how she will pinch down and help out offensively by giving her teammates another option in the offensive zone. She is also a passing threat due to always having her head up to find open players and her poise with the puck helps her find the best possible option to move the puck to. She is also a smooth skater who can bounce around the ice to always make herself available and make it look effortless and tireless. B+

Nayeon Kim (OHA Tardiff Jrs, F) : Nayeon is a fast skater who gets around the ice to dangerous areas quickly. She is good at finding skating lanes which makes her a more effective skater. She has a high motor that runs all game long. She will also get to the net and look to tip pucks and bang home rebounds. B

Jayde Sansregret (OHA Tardiff Jrs, D, 2025) : Jayde plays aggressively which we liked. She keeps plays alive by using smart pinches by grabbing the body or the puck to keep possession inside the offensive zone. She will also battle for the puck along the boards and uses her frame to separate the puck from the opposition’s stick. B

Nichols Prep U19

Callista Printz (Nichols School, D, 2024) : Callista has quick feet that let her evade pressure and she can escape forecheckers by using her edge work and spinning away to open ice. She can skate with the puck well and finds skating lanes to be a one person breakout which takes pressure off her forwards. She will take open ice whenever it presents itself. She also adds scoring ability and we saw her score at least one goal off a strong rush up ice. B+

CT Polar Bears U16 

Izabella Zapata (Philadelphia Jr. Flyers U14, F, 2027) : Izabella is a fast skater who motors all around the ice. She loves to play the game at a fast pace and wants to make plays to her teammates quickly and utilize her quickness to expose defenders. She also picks her head up and is good at finding her teammates for passes and keeping plays alive. B+

Keirstyn Camiolo (Williston Northampton School, F, 2025) Keirstyn has a nose for the net. She likes to position herself around the crease for screens and pick up loose pucks. She is good at getting shots on net and has finishing capabilities. She is a strong skater due to how well she can get to the net and when she is around the net she has quick hands that allow her to maneuver in high traffic areas. B+

Brenna Ziter (CT Polar Bears U16, F, 2026) : Brenna is great down low and uses effective cycles to keep possession for her team. Her hands allow her to avoid incoming pressure and keep up with her high pace of play. She can make passes to her teammates and keep up with her skating ability. Her skating consists of quick turns that help her drive to the net and escape from forecheckers and backcheckers. B+

Alyssa Frazier (Williston Northampton School, D, 2025) : Alyssa is good at walking the line especially considering her taller size. She is good at picking her head up and finding a shooting lane and can release a heavy shot on net that causes rebounds and can get the goalie out of position. She also uses her size to help defensively with her long reach and separate the puck from the opposing player. B

Brooke Schlutter (Williston Northampton School, F, 2027) : Brooke has quick hands that she uses to play make and find open ice to send passes to her teammates off the rush and in the offensive zone to find scoring chances. She is a good skater that plays fast which matches her high pace of play. B

Natalie Scolaro (Westminster School, F, 2026) : Natalie uses her body to shield pucks and keep the opposing team from poking the puck off her stick. She is also a pain to defend along the boards which bodes well for her at the next level. She can win most of her puck battles which is huge at the college level. She also helps offensively by getting pucks to the net and making the goalie work. B

Winchendon U16

Victoria Jonasson (Winchendon School, F, 2026) : Victoria is silky smooth with the puck. She almost seems to slither around the ice and remain untouched by defenders. She uses her great feet to protect the puck and drive to the net to get pucks on. She also has a high motor to get back and pick up the puck carrier when she is backchecking. B+

BK Selects U16

Annika Stock (Rochester Youth Hockey – BK Selects U16, F, 2026) : Annika is a good battler for the puck and uses her body effectively to win her board battles. She has good hockey IQ that helps her playmaking and puck support. She supports the play in both ends which means she is never far away from the puck and can assist in any play. Her playmaking is effective due to her creativity to find players you do not expect to be open as well as strong tape to tape passes. A-

Addison Tremel (Rochester Youth Hockey – BK Selects U16, F, 2026) : Addison is a high energy player who plays the game the right way. She is effective in all 3 zones. She has a high motor and keeps her feet moving everywhere on the ice to get to where she needs to be. She backchecks hard to gain possession of the puck and will disrupt any chance up ice. She also does the work in front, to make her teammates shots more effective due to her heavy screens. A-

Lia Cericola (Rochester Youth Hockey – BK Selects U16, F, 2026) : Lia is a fast player who plays at a very high pace. She finds skating lanes in a blink of an eye and has no fear to drive the puck towards the net. Her best attribute is she can probably do most things herself but she elects to be more unselfish and use her teammates to create scoring chances. A-

Shayla Beaudette (Rochester Youth Hockey – BK Selects U16, D, 2026) : Shayla is a top defender at her age group. She is strong in her battles, she is aggressive and uses her body to separate opposing players from the puck. She handles the puck well and makes plays under pressure to put her teammates up ice. We were impressed by her breakouts as well and the way she can make tape to tape passes at a high pace of play. A-

Corinne Leibowitz (Rochester Youth Hockey – BK Selects U16, F, 2026) : Corinne plays a fast game and matches her fast skating with a great work ethic. She works hard on her rushes and works hard on her defensive matchups. She likes to look off her passes and uses her smart hockey IQ to make it seem like she is going to do one thing and ends up making an even better play. B+

Sophia Garner (Rochester Youth Hockey – BK Selects U16, F, 2027) : Sophia is good at battling for the puck and when you are up against her, do not be shocked if you lose the battle. She is always keeping her feet moving which helps with her passing and makes more tape to tape passes. She is also good in the defensive zone and we did not see her on the PK but we think she will be a great penalty killer due to how well she can cover the ice and her high motor. B+

Kayla Gerson (Rochester Youth Hockey – BK Selects U16, F, 2026) : Kayla is strong on her stick and that allows her to be very effective along the boards and in puck battles. She almost always comes up with the puck on her stick or by helping put the puck on a teammate’s stick. We had teammate utilization in our notes for the way she is unselfish with the puck and head mans the puck on rushes. B+

Gigi Martin (Rochester Youth Hockey – BK Selects U16, D, 2027) : Gigi is good at pinches and mostly goes for the puck which is good because she effectively keeps the puck in the offensive zone. She is good on breakouts and picks her head up to make quick passes up ice to get back on the attack. She does have good skating ability and will showcase her feet by using them to assist in the breakout. We also like the way she gets pucks through traffic and on the net. B+

Chloe Brinson (Rochester Youth Hockey – BK Selects U16, F, 2026) : Chloe is strong along the boards and bulls into the boards to free up the puck. She is a good skater that moves quickly around the ice which helps her pass to her teammates to create offense. Her skating also helps her find open ice to where she can pass the puck to show off her playmaking like we mentioned earlier or get her into a shooting position to get a solid shot towards the cage. B+
