September 28, 2018 was the season opener for both teams as the 2018/2019 Midget AAA campaign kicks off. The Thrashers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead thanks to the slick hands of Chase Sobey. The Selects struggled to muster up much of anything this game and any nice looks they did have they got shut down by the strong play of Dawson Rattai.
