OHL:  Ottawa (3) @ Kingston (2)

Ryder Fetterolf set his feet well before shots and skates to his spot efficiently. He was patient on shots and read release and tracked pucks well. The visiting Edmonton Oil Kings nine game winning streak ended on this night as the hometown Kelowna Rockets defeated them 5-2 (two empty net goals). This was a true goaltenders battle, as two highly regarded netminders went head to head. On this night, the Rocket’s Harrison Boettiger got the win over Parker Snell, but they were both excellent. WHL:  Medicine Hat (3) @ Calgary (2)

Great pace to this game, not a lot of whistles. Good physicality out of both teams, Calgary had more chances and grade A’s, but the game was decently even overall and very back and forth with limited shots to start. As the game went on, the chances picked up with fatigue. Med hat allowed a late power play goal to send it to overtime, and the Ruck brothers connected on a delayed penalty to win.

WHL:  Brandon (6) @ Moose Jaw (4)

Grayson Burzynski is an offensive defenseman who reads plays well and consistently attacks with his forwards. Both of his goals tonight came from sneaking backdoor as his forwards rolled high, burying rebounds that popped out to him. His breakouts were crisp and simple-finding teammates early before joining the rush

WHL:  Kamloops (5) @ Tri-City (4)

This high scoring matchup featured goals from all over the lineup and true back and forth action all night. Goals came in every situation from shorthanded, on the power play, and at even strength. In the end, it was the Blazers who edged out the Americans in overtime.

QMJHL:  Baie-Comeau (1) @ Rouyn-Noranda (0)

Strong team defense and standout goaltending defined this 1–0 game tonight. Both sides were disciplined and organized in their own end, and that carried over to special teams, despite seven total power plays, neither team was able to convert. The lone goal came back in the first period, and from that point on, it was a full game commitment to structure and defensive detail that kept the score from moving.

OHL:  Saginaw (4) @ Flint (5)

The Saginaw Spirit visited the Flint Firebirds for a high-energy matchup that turned into a back-and-forth offensive showcase. Flint’s attack was firing on all cylinders, led by a standout four-point performance from #76 Nathan Aspinall. QMJHL:  Québec (5) @ Charlottetown (2)

After a shorthanded goal late in the second period trimmed the deficit to one, it looked like the Islanders were starting to build some momentum. But a Remparts goal just thirty seconds into the third completely halted that push, and the Islanders were never able to recover.

WHL:  Moose Jaw (3) @ Swift Current (4)

This game was back and forth for most of the night, but Swift Current had more dangerous chances and more grade A’s. The majority of Moose Jaws shots were from the outside or from range; they were opportunistic in their scoring. Swift Current was better in this game, but Moose Jaw kept themselves in the game until Pantelakis scored five-hole in the shootout for the only goal and game winner.
