This game was closer than the scoreboard appears, as the visiting Wenatchee Wild led after the first period 3-2 and outshot the Kelowna Rockets 21 to 9. The Rockets ran away with it in the third period scoring four times. Shane Smith led the way for the Rockets with three goals and an assist, while Carson Wetsch added four assists. Single goals went to Mazden Leslie, Tij Iginla, Hiroki Gojsic, Vojtek Cijar with a slick penalty shot goal, while Ryan Oothoudt scored his first WHL goal.
The London Knights visited the Kitchener Rangers in a high-tempo matchup between two teams that really don’t like each other. Sam O’Reilly (#23) and Dylan Edwards (#16) led the charge for the Rangers, while Sebastian Gatto (#80) did his best to fend off the Rangers’ attack. Despite his efforts, it wasn’t enough, as Kitchener came away with a 5-2 victory.
Chicoutimi overall had such a better start than the Olympiques during the first two periods of the game giving them a four goal lead going into the third. The third period, Gatineau was able to push back out shooting the Sagueneens three to one, it just want not enough to overcome the early deficit.

Comments: Gunnar is a role player for the Wheat Kings and did his job well tonight. He was a force on the forecheck, creating confusion and finishing his checks consistently. As the game tightened, Gunnar got under the skin of some key Moose Jaw players, disrupting their focus.

Kingston scored the first four goals of the game in the first period but then Owen Sound came storming back in the second period with three unanswered goals of their own to make it 4-3. The third period saw chances both ways but Kingston added an insurance goal to make it 5-3 and Owen Sound was unable to score with the goalie pulled for the last 3 minutes. Here is a report of the best players from the game:
The Penticton Vees built a 3-1 lead after one period and didn’t look back defeating the visiting Tri-City Americans 5-3. Captain Ryden Evers continued his excellent play, leading the team with a goal and two assists, while line mate Jacob Kvasnicka had two goals, with singles going to Tristan Peterson and Britain Alstead. Connor Dale had two goals and Grady Martin with a single replied for the Americans.
The Youngstown Phantoms visited the Lincoln Stars in a fast-paced, high-octane matchup that featured plenty of scoring chances and some impressive goals. Regulation time produced no winner, as the game was tied 3-3 through 60 minutes. A shootout was necessary, and Youngstown picked up the extra points.
The Kingston Frontenacs visited the Brantford Bulldogs. A tight matchup didn’t see much offense but saw two goaltenders shine: Gavin Betts (#43) for Kingston and David Egorov (#88) for the Bulldogs. Overtime solved nothing, and Kingston earned the extra point in the shootout with a final score of 2-1.
This game was pure offense, with twelve power plays and eleven total goals being scored, both teams showed that they were able to put the puck in the back of the net. It was the Regiment that found a way down the stretch in the third period with a dagger, forty seconds after the Mooseheads were able to bring the score within one. Then another goal with less than a minute to play to seal the deal.

The hometown Kelowna Rockets overtime difficulties continued as they dropped a 4-3 decision to the Portland Winterhawks, remaining winless in five overtime games. Sam Spehar got the winner in overtime, while Alex Weirermair, Ryan Miller and Will McLaughlin added singles for the Winterhawks. Tij Iginla with two and Ty Halaburda scored for the Rockets. Ondrej Stebetek was excellent in goal for the Winterhawks making 42 saves, 21 in the third period alone.
This is an exciting game given that it was a tied game with four minutes left to play. Red Deer went on the power play, and they capitalized with an impressive goal. Costly penalties down the stretch for the Cougars, from the middle of the second all the way to the game winning goal, was the difference tonight.
This game got off to a very slow start, with the majority of the first period containing little action and North Bay being limited to just one shot on goal. North Bay came out hard in the second period but back-to-back goals by Soo changed the momentum in the middle of the period. Soo added an empty netter at the very end to close out the win 3-0.
Everett controlled the pace and had more opportunities for the first two periods. More shots and chances throughout the game. In the third period it looked like Tri-City had more chances and energy, Everett had a healthy lead and may have taken their foot off the gas a little bit. Tri-City got a couple to make it a game before Everett closed it out with a late goal.
This was a low scoring game and quite the opposite from what the QMJHL provides. But finally, on the power play, the Huskies were able to find the only goal of the game. One of the more shocking parts about this game is that there were eleven power plays combined between both teams and only one goal to show for it.
Not the most exciting game as both teams weren’t really sharp. A lot of one and done chances and little sustained O Zone pressure except on specialty teams. Guelph looked flat all night and just couldn’t get it going in front of there home crowd.
The hometown Kelowna Rockets snapped a 2-2 tie with two goals in the third period for an important 4-2 victory over the Prince George Cougars. Owen Folstrom scored the eventual winner, off of a fortunate bounce off the backboards that went in off of goaltender Joshua Ravensbergen’s skate. Tomas Poletin, Parker Alcos and Keith McInnis into an empty net rounded out the scoring for the Rockets. Cooper Gizowski and Riley Ashe scored the Cougars goals.
Kamloops won this game by just dominating the beginning of each period. The Blazers nearly outshot the Rebels two to one, and the scoring chances are probably close to the same type of stats. Though they were not able to convert, the Blazers had six power plays, which is enough time to create some type of momentum throughout a game. An overall lack of discipline from the Rebels did not help their game.
Vojtech Cihar had a four point night with a goal and three assist to lead the hometown Kelowna Rockets to a 5-3 victory over the Red Deer Rebels. The Rebels scored two late goals in a game that was otherwise out of reach. Also scoring for the Rockets were Eli Barrett with his first WHL goal, along with Hiroki Gojsik, Hayden Paupanekis, and Tij Iginla. Replying for the Rebels were Patrick Sopiarz with two and Nate Yellowaga.
