One of the more exciting games of the year this year with a late comeback from the Rockets and a third period that produced five of the nine goals scored in the game. The Rockets stunned their opponents with two goals in the final minute, the first to tie it and the second to win it, capping off an incredible finish.

The Portland Winterhawks battled back from a two goal deficit to defeat the Everett Silvertips 3–2 in overtime. Goaltender Ondrej Stebetak was the backbone of the comeback, turning aside 50 shots. After falling behind in the second period, Portland responded with goals from Nathan Brown and Alex Weiermair to force OT, where Nathan Free sealed the win just 40 seconds in.

North Bay travelled to Sudbury and got the road victory. North Bay scored two quick goals in the first 5 minutes of the second period and although Sudbury quickly got one back, they were unable to get the equalizer. In the third period North Bay added a 3rd insurance goal and hung on for the win. Here are the players who stood out most in this game.
Meyer is a smart, positionally sound defenseman who shows a strong understanding of the game at both ends of the ice. He’s confident moving the puck and consistently makes good decisions to get pucks deep and maintain offensive pressure. In the defensive zone, Freddy’s awareness and structure stand out as he reads plays well and keeps himself in the right spots to break up attacks.
DuPont makes himself noticed in all areas of the ice. Landon did a lot of things well tonight but was highly efficient on Everett’s powerplay. Even though they did not score (0-2), Landon always seemed to make the correct play.

First overall import draft selection Thomas Poletin led the way in the hometown Kelowna Rockets 3-2 win, scoring his third goal in two games off of a laser one timer from the slot on the power play. He also scored the game winner in the shootout. Kaden Longley chipped in with a goal and an assist for the Rockets while Doogan Pederson and Brittan Alstead scored for the Vees. Vees goaltender AJ Reyelts was steady making 27 saves in the loss.

Neutral Zone has released its first player rankings of the U.S. National Team Development Program’s U18 roster following the team’s opening six games. It has been a challenging start to the season, with the group posting a 1–5 record against a USHL schedule.
