U18: 5 Nation Tournament, November 8-14, 2022: Axel has decent size as a 6’1/180 pound right shot defenseman. A good skater capable of making very hard open ice hits and a defender who is quick to jump into the attack if needed. He was noticeable with his ability to move across blueline with puck using shifts to buy some ice and sneak shots through. He also got real good wood on several one time opportunities. However he needs to clean up some poor puck decisions and how quickly he moves it. (Scout: Marlin Muylaert)
U18: Team Sweden vs Team Finland, November 10, 2022 (C+)and Team Sweden vs Team Czechia, November 11, 2022 (C+). Understands positioning and how to support his defense partner when he’s under pressure. Knows where to provide him an option. Needs to identify quickly the offensive threats in his own zone when the opposition has the puck. Has a tendency to get his feet too wide when skating backwards, thus getting caught flat footed.
