Ludwig Persson | Frolunda | SHL | L | C | 5’11” | 179 | Goteborg, SWE | 2003 | 2021-2022: B+ |
Ian Moran’s Thoughts: Persson is an offensively gifted left shot forward who can play all three positions up front. The combination of his ability to process the game very quickly and his explosive stride make him dangerous every time his team has control of the puck. Although he is not the biggest player on the ice Persson is very comfortable attacking the middle lane as a puck carrier and he is more than willing to be a net front presence. He has shown the ability to get a quick stick on bouncing rebounds and we feel he has an expanded shooting area when preparing to fire a one-timer. Although he will need to develop more strength to be a top 6 in the NHL, Persson is very strong on the puck while cycling and once he gets a step on a defender he is very explosive when attacking the crease. Offensively he plays with his eyes up looking for mismatches in speeds. He is very aware of the depth of a line rush and has the poise to outwait a defender allowing his second wave of the attack to get into prime scoring areas.
