Martin Bohm

Neutral Zone NHL’s Ian Moran’s comments, June 2021: Bohm is aggressive and very willing to take chances at the blue lines. He forces opposing puck carriers very quickly with a stick on puck attitude and he is all about taking away time and space. I like his willingness to battle and win battles. He’s good at tying up sticks in front of his net and clearing shooting lanes. Even though he’s not very active in the offensive zone he has a quick hard release on point shots and he hits the net.

Neutral Zone’s Ed Besinger, June 2021: Martin is a left-shot defender from the Czech Republic and is listed at 5’10’’ and 176 pounds. He played this past season in the U20 Czech League for Bili Tygri Liberec and HC Benatky and Jizerou. He also dressed for one game for the Czech U18s Internationally and registered one assist. He is a smaller defender but has a thick lower half and strong base. He has quick feet and a bit of a choppy stride to get around the ice. Aggressive and plays physical. Cuts down time and space on forwards quickly and uses an active stick to break up passes and chances. He takes chances at the offensive blueline which at times leads to bad decisions and odd-man rushes. He runs around a bit in his defensive zone and is overaggressive at times. He likes to battle around the front of the net and in the corners. Doesn’t shy away from contact and will compete in all three zones. Needs to round out aspects of his offensive game and be more consistent shift-to-shift.

Drafted 2021, 1 #59 overall by Winnipeg Ice in the CHL Import Draft
