Ian Moran’s Thought’s: Big strong right shot winger who plays an NHL style game. At 6’2″ 200lbs he is a very effective F1 on the forecheck as he understands his job is to create chaos and finish checks with authority. It appears to me that he has no issue with being a big abrasive winger who is not looking to make friends. I love his ability to drive his hips through an opposing defender’s hip on the way to the net. When is coming from below the goal line Pettersson he is very aware of making incidental on his way to the net front. Often times he makes contact and his force will literally spin the defender away from the puck. I don’t think he’s player that will dangle and make a defender miss on a 1on1, but I do think he is the guy who will run a defender over on his way to a rebound. Like I said, he plays an NHL styled game.
