Max Holland | Culver Academy | Independent Prep | R | D | 5’11” | 160 | Mission Viejo, CA | 2006 | Not yet rated |
Game Grade: A-
Comments: Holland was a minutes eater in this win for Culver. He showed off good feet, quick edges and mobility here. He led the offense from the back end here with 2 goals an assist including the overtime game winner. He was up in the play whether as a trailer or leading the rush. He’s a puck moving defenseman who could hit the quick exit or a stretch pass into the neutral zone. His assist came on the power play, walking the line, juking by a defender and then hitting his partner on the flank for a one-time shot. His OT winner was a beauty going end to end, deking through a player in the neutral zone, driving wide and beating the d-man to the net and popping one far side. He was also impactful in his own end, playing hard in the corners and bringing physicality down low.
Zack Zhang | Culver Academy | Independent Prep | L | RW | 5’11” | 175 | Irvine, CA | 2005 | Not yet rated |

Comments: Zhang is a returning player for Culver’s prep team and while he was held off the score sheet, he was impactful throughout. He’s a crafty winger with good speed. He plays the game with tempo and pace. He was most noticeable when carrying pucks through the neutral zone, keeping possession which led to creative plays in the offensive zone. He used his speed and shiftiness to get under defenders in the o-zone and get to the net. He played a competitive, two-way game through in this one.
Alexy Lachaine | Culver Academy | Independent Prep | L | C | 5’11” | 172 | Blainville, QC | 2006 | Not yet rated |

Comments: Lachaine is a hard working, gritty, two-way centermen out of Quebec. He was effective in all three zones, tallying 2 assists on the afternoon. He has a good, balanced stride and while he’s not a burner he should good speed in the open ice. He was relentless on forechecks, applying heavy pressure on defenders with one pressure leading to a turnover and one of his assists. He was around the net, didn’t hesitate to get to the front of the net to create traffic. In his own end, he played a positionally sound defensive game. Body was consistently between the puck carrier and the net and played with an active stick.
Vince Kalscheur | Culver Academy | Independent Prep | L | LW | 6’2″ | 188 | Middleton, WI | 2006 | 2023-2024: C |
Game Grade: A-
Comments: Kalscheur is a long, strong Power Froward that was excellent in this viewing finishing with a hat-trick. While he’s not an elite skater, he has a long, balanced stride and can get going off a couple steps. He was constantly getting himself into open spaces and shooting areas. First goal was on the flank on the PP hammering home a one-timer. The second was a beauty where he showed off his power and strength, taking a feed cutting in between the dots and the wall in the o-zone, making a power move wide on the defender and beating him to the net. He worked his tail off in both ends of the ice. He showed good awareness getting his sticks in lanes and picking a few pockets.
Luke Hogan | Culver Academy | Independent Prep | L | LW | 5’10” | 165 | Chicago, IL | 2005 | Not yet rated |
Game Grade: B-
Comments: Hogan is a lean, strong forward who made plays on almost every shift. While he didn’t wow with highlight type plays, he made smart, calculated passes coming out of his end and short, subtle passes in the NZ. He played with speed and awareness, always had his head up reading open options. He showed good balance and sturdiness, it was tough to knock him off pucks. On several occasions he pulled up and hit trailers in odd man situations. The puck just seemed to find him throughout in this one.

Game Grade: B
Comments: Bourdukofsky is an average-sized, hard-working winger. He showed speed coming through the neutral zone and when pressuring on the forecheck. Luc Schaefer | South Kent U18 | Independent Prep | L | D | 6’1″ | 177 | Hume, VA | 2006 | 2023-2024: C |
Game Grade: B-
Comments: Schaefer played on the 2nd pairing today for South Kent. He’s a long, lanky defenseman that showed good mobility. He doesn’t stand out due to the lack of flash but he’s a reliable, two-way defender. He was quick to move pucks out of his own end. Didn’t dust it, just looked to catch it and move it. He was effective in his own end utilizing his reach and power to defend. He made a couple nice step-ups in the neutral zone stymying transitional rushes. Still a bit raw but an intriguing prospect for the next level.
Andrew Jensen | South Kent U18 | Independent Prep | L | D | 5’8″ | 161 | Syracuse, NY | 2006 | Not yet rated |
Game Grade: B+
Comments: Jensen is an undersized, left-shot defenseman who should excellent mobility. He’s a shifty, dynamic player who made plays using his feet in both ends of the ice. In his own end he showed great escape ability and was able to spin out of traffic after collecting pucks. He reversed sides of the ice several times and hitting the winger for quick exits. In the offensive zone he used his feet along the line. The second goal was created after he beat a pressuring winger, drew the weak side wing over and moved the puck over to his partner for a shot that found the back of the net.
Kamil Rohal | South Kent U18 | Independent Prep | R | RW | 5’11” | 185 | Michalovce, SVK | 2005 | 2022-2023: C |
Game Grade: B
Comments: Rohal is a two-way, gritty forward who competes. He played with a bit of jam below the goal line, finishing checks and applying pressure on defenders. He was routinely in the dirty areas being disruptive and winning puck battles. In his own end his stopped on pucks and had his stick in position to break up plays. While his initial step can improve he has a balanced stride, stays low and could absorb body contact and move through it. He was around the net with and without the puck and it paid off tipping in a point shot in this one.

Will Hughes | South Kent U18 | Independent Prep | L | C | 5’10” | 180 | Ottawa, ON | 2006 | 2023-2024: C |
Game Grade: B
Comments: Hughes is an average sized forward in his first year at South Kent hailing from Ontario. The centerman was effective in the dot, winning nearly 60% of draws by our count. He’s a strong skater who plays with pace. He showed good balance and strength in his stride, it was tough for defenders to knock him off the puck which was highlighted by his goal today. He came down the center in the offensive zone, cut to the boards received a pass off the half-wall and then drove from the dot down, cutting in, powering past a defender and roofing one up over the goalies shoulder.

Comments: Dyachkov is a long, heavy forward who potted a goal today for South Kent. He was a moose below the goal line, protecting pucks and winning puck battles. He used his strength to push off defenders and get to the front of the net. He was frequently getting to the front of the net, never more noticeable than on the game tying goal in the final 10 seconds tipping in a point shot. Carson Mitchell | South Kent U18 | Independent Prep | R | RW | 5’8″ | 180 | St. Louis, MO | 2006 | Not yet rated |

He’s a two-way player who was relentless on pressure plays whether it was on the forecheck, backcheck or in the neutral zone. He had a couple opportunities from scoring areas, showed off a quick, hard shot. His initial step can improve, doesn’t have that game breaking speed you’d like to see out of an undersized forward.

Comments: Salon is an 07 that was playing up for South Kent here. He has a good frame for his age, good size and strength. He showed excellent poise and confidence controlling pucks. There was no hesitation in his game with the puck on his stick. He showed off a ton of creativity making plays coming up the ice with speed and working out of the corners. Salon showed excellent defensive awareness coming back on plays, he made a couple nice reads on the backcheck and stripped pucks to go off the opposite way. He was good in his own end showing off an active stick and played tight on his man. Multiple times he turned hard work on the defensive side of the puck into offense.
