QMJHL: Val-d’Or at Moncton

Played on October 22, 2023

Samuel Fiala (C, R, 6’1″, 185, Val d’Or Foreurs, 04/09/2005)

Game Grade: B

Comments: Samuel Fiala Val d’Or Foreurs B Rating great skater and edge control, needs to get to the middle more often, but definitely has the skill set to be over a point a game player at the Q level, great release and puck skills, great compete level and processes the game extremely well, breaks players down in one on one situations, very shifty and agile in open ice, deceptive speed and definitely has a high gear, Here’s a player that will put points up at an alarming rate when he gains more comfort and confidence playing in the Q and beyond, very impressive overall skill set, no doubt can play both positions, but better suited to be on the wing, good in traffic, would like to see a touch more grit a long the half boards in his own end and the offensive zone to ensure he wins more puck battles,

Alix Durocher (LW, L, 5’9″, 164, Val d’Or Foreurs, 07/25/2006)

Game Grade: C+

Comments: Alix Durocher Val d’Or Foreurs C+ Rating highly skilled, explosive skater, some may suggest he might have to lengthen his stride a little to reach his full potential at the next level, but this kid can fly on the ice already, plays a lot bigger than his stature, will have to continue to work on his upper body strength to win board battles, but he’s highly engaged in every shift, he possesses a strong two-way gritty element to his game, fantastic hockey sense, relentless, Isn’t scared of the dirty areas of the ice.
