Tonight’s game against Madison was a bit lopsided as Green Bay came in with determined effort. They got off to an early lead and didn’t look back. Green Bay was up 3-0 after the 1st period and up 5-0 midway through the 2nd period. Here’s a report on 2 players who NHL Organizations will be looking at as we head into the Holidays.
McKade Webster (4.25 Star Amateur Rating, 2019 round 7 #213 overall by Tampa Bay Lightning, NHL Grade — C) Forward
McKade was surprisingly picked late in the 2019 NHL Draft after missing nearly the entire season due to injury. The Tampa Bay Lightning snuck the pick in the 7th round and looked smart for it tonight. McKade was the best player on the ice controlling the play with his puck skills and hockey sense. He was ultra-shifty and very difficult to close in on to take away time and space. His soft touch on the puck in traffic was tremendous and he made plays on the fore hand as well as the back hand. He set guys up with scoring chances all over the place. As well as being great in tight areas, he also took a couple defenders wide off the rush and beat them to the net to get great chances. Tonight he had a line of 0-3-3 with a +3 and 3 shots on goal. GAME GRADE: A
Nicholas Zabaneh (4 Star Amateur Rating, NHL Grade — C) Forward
Nicholas may not be on the NHL Draft radar for 2020, but he is a player with the strong attributes of a potential free agent down the road. It only takes one shift to see his NHL skating ability. He easily separates from players off the rush and plays with a big time pace. He had it going tonight as he cruised by defenders and made plays all over. Offensively, he is very gifted and creative, but we feel he must continue to improve his all-around game to really open National League eyes. Tonight, he got around the net and was rewarded for it by cashing in with 2 goals. He finished the game with a 2-1-3 line. GAME GRADE: B+
