
On November 18th, 2020 Ridley College played an exhibition game against Niagara Falls. The game was played in two-25 minute halves with penalty shots and zone clears instead of whistles and faceoffs. Neutral Zone was able to scout the game virtually through Ridley’s stream. The interesting rules kept the play moving and decreased the face-to-face contact that a faceoff would bring but did get confusing from a scouting perspective. We weren’t able to evaluate as many breakouts as a result of the puck clearing.
