Neutral would like to introduce Jackie Perez as our new Director of Hockey Operations. Perez has been with Neutral Zone for the past year as the Northeast Director of Scouting on the women’s site.
“I am excited to continue to grow with Neutral Zone,” says Perez. “It’s a great environment filled with motivated people who are truly passionate about hockey and growing the sport.”
A California native, Perez traveled across the country to play NCAA Division III hockey for Norwich University where she helped them win a National Championship in 2011. After college she became an Assistant Coach for New England College from 2015-2017.
She was selected to the position after an exhaustive search across North America and will be tasked with working on both the men’s and women’s sites. While the hockey ops position encompasses a lot of different skill sets and positions; she will mostly be in charge of overseeing and running the content for NZ; from podcasts, to special interest stories to educational articles to growing our social media presence.
“Jackie is a talented individual who has proven herself throughout her time at Neutral Zone, not only as a scout but as a writer, an editor, a marketing professional, and a manager,” remarked NZ President Steve Wilk. “She has the work ethic, the focus, and the skill to take Neutral Zone to another level and we are thrilled that she is joining our team. It’s the right person at the right time and that is why we selected her out of a pool of over 200 applicants.”
