Boston Hockey Academy Finds a New Home

Boston Hockey Academy is excited to announce our partnership with the Academy of Notre Dame, an esteemed educational institution. This collaboration aims to provide enhanced opportunities for student-athletes seeking excellence in both academics and Tier 1 AAA hockey.

“The partnership between Boston Hockey Academy and the Academy of Notre Dame brings together two institutions renowned for their commitment to fostering student success. By combining their respective expertise, we aim to create a unique and comprehensive program that is committed to the development of student-athletes. The BHA Leadership Group and Board of Directors feel this school will fit with our growth, mindset, and long-term success. Notre Dame provides a larger campus, smaller classes, and an understanding of educating student-athletes.”

-Nate Bostic, BHA President, and U16 Head Coach

Through this partnership, student-athletes will benefit from a well-rounded educational experience, seamlessly integrating their academic pursuits with the highest level of hockey in the US. The Academy of Notre Dame’s rigorous academic curriculum will be complemented by Boston Hockey Academy’s professional coaching staff, state-of-the-art facilities, and proven player development model.

“Boston Hockey Academy has made significant strides in improving facilities, creating a positive impact on the development and performance of our players. We recognized the importance of providing state-of-the-art training environments and invested in upgrading its facilities accordingly. With the addition of brand-new locker rooms, a new weight room, and general facilities, BHA provides an ideal setting for players to hone their abilities and excel in their hockey careers.”

Eric Walsh Academy Director and U18 Head Coach

At Boston Hockey Academy, they are committed to upgrading and improving facilities as needed in order to progress as a premier destination for the highest-end players around the world. As a result, our players will be better equipped to face the challenges of competitive hockey and showcase their abilities at a higher level, setting them up for success in their hockey careers.

The collaboration between Boston Hockey Academy, the Academy of Notre Dame, and Breakaway Ice Center will provide student-athletes with a supportive environment that promotes growth, discipline, and character development. With a specialized curriculum designed to accommodate the demanding schedules of aspiring hockey players, coupled with a fresh, new environment focused on development, players will be given every opportunity to succeed.

“BHA has improved each season. Their best years are ahead and the fact that they insist on a brick and mortar learning environment for their players is crucial in my opinion. Young people should be in an actual high school when possible and Notre Dame (NZ’s Mark Bilotta studied there!) will provide a superb academic environment. On the ice, 2006 Gryphon Bucci was a USHL Draft pick and is headed to his second USA Hockey National Camp. Alexei Filimonov tendered with the Danbury Hat Tricks of the NAHL in April. Troy Pelton tendered with Corpus Christi (NAHL.) Zach Jesse is headed to Amherst College after a season in the NCDC. Jesse Horacek had a quality season in the NAHL and played in the Top Prospects Tournament. BHA Graduates Kai Shen and Dino Marretta won a Dineen Cup with the Islanders in the NCDC. In addition former Duke Riley Fitzgerald spent the last season in Cedar Rapids (USHL) and 2005 Carter Richardson made his mark in the BCHL between the pipes for Salmon Arm in 2022-23. Beyond those players several more Boston Hockey Academy U18 players have been courted by Junior Leagues and NE Prep Schools this Spring. U18 player and QMJHL draft pick Luke Moran is headed to NE Prep and New Hampton this Fall. It will be interesting watch this program continue to grow as their early success in development is very good. Also, Boston Hockey Academy has some excellent new players headed to play for the Dukes in 2023-24 and coupled with their first-rate coaches and staff, the sky is the limit.”
