Ian Moran’s Thoughts: Considering that if he was born about a week later he would be in next year’s draft class, Muromtsev is a very interesting prospect to me. He’s long and will need to improve core strength and stability so that he can lengthen his stride, but he can stop on a dime and shows very good knee bend when accelerating out of the stop. In the offensive zone he goes to the net with his stick down looking for tips or rebounds and when shows very quick hands once he gets his stick on the puck. Another reason I find him interesting is his year over year improvement. During the 2020-21 season Muromtsev had 9 goals, 11 assists for 20 points in 48 games, but this year he popped for 23 goals, 29 assists and 52 points in 45 games. I’m not sure if he gets drafted, but if you’re a team with multiple late round picks and time to let this September 6th, 2004 mature then you might have something in 4 years. Again he’s a very interesting player to me
