Danila SysoyevOmskie YastrebyMHLRLW5’10”179Achinsk, RUS20062023-2024: B

Game Grade: C

Comments: This was not Sysoyev’s best showing this season. He was very low energy today and not able to cause much of an impact at either end. With the puck he constantly over handled in tight situations and threw the puck away without much thought. He missed the net with a majority of his shot attempts and was not able to create anything through his passing. Without the puck he was a bit lackadaisical. He did not put much energy into his forecheck or backcheck and coasted around for most of the game. I liked his ability to cut into dangerous space but he was never utilized by his teammates. He also has a heavy wrist shot but did not let it go too many times. Need to see more out of Sysoyev in the next game.

Yegor PrivalovOmskie YastrebyMHLRLW5’11”174Ryazan, RUS20072024-2025: B

Game Grade: B

Comments: I was really happy with Privalov’s effort level in today’s game. He went hard into battles and worked to dig pucks out. His best plays were completed behind the net. Both with and without the puck he battled hard to earn/keep possession for his team below the goal line and showed a great effort level all night. He also showed off some good transition play, carrying the puck up ice with speed and beating an opponent or two at the line with slick dekes. He did not have the puck often today but I loved the motor he brought to this battle of Siberia.

Ilya LyuzenkovSibirskie Snaipery NovosibirskMHLLC6’2″176Novosibirsk, RUS20062023-2024: C

Game Grade: B-

Comments: Lyuzenkov has wheels and with a bit more intention in his decision making, he could be a very talented player. He has skilled hands but attempts to force his way past opponents with trickier moves that the situation calls for. His speed is explosive and if he chose to drive wide while protecting the puck before attempting a move to the inside, he would be much more successful. His decision making also needs some work. There were far too many times where he got lazy and instead of escaping pressure with his feet he threw the puck away without much thought. There were also a number of times where he shot from distance or made a quick turn and fired a shot straight into the opponent’s legs. He needs to put more thought into his pass and shot choices before losing possession for his team. He was able to pick up a nice assist on the first goal of the game. He picked up a loose puck going down hill and fired a cross zone pass to an open teammate for an easy one time finish. That pass was a great example of what he could accomplish with a bit more thought into his decisions. He applied solid pressure tonight without the puck but needs to keep his feet moving. His speed is enough to force players into bad spots and mistakes but he rarely picks his feet up enough to affect the game on that level. Skilled player but I need to see more effort from him on a consistent basis.

Yaroslav BelyakovSibirskie Snaipery NovosibirskMHLLD6’0″165Krasnoobsk, RUS20062023-2024: C

Game Grade: C

Comments: Belyakov is an interesting prospect. He has skilled hands and is reasonably agile when walking the line but he just looks clunky in his movements. He can pull off some nice moves but looks awkward when handling the puck and needs to refine his hand and skating movements. He was an effective PPQB and can snap the puck around quickly. He is trusted in all situations and was given a ton of ice time tonight. I’ll have to check back up on him in a few weeks.
